GTX 570 overclocking thread - Page 124

Are Asus DCUII and MSI TwinFrozr III better for overclock...? I saw many problems and "KIA" reports with GTX570, are those with custom PCB better, more stable and stuff like that?

And to the others saying that pov card looks cheap...it actualy does but from other peoples expirience they are sturdy and reliable cards.
PoV is not fancy like ASUS or EVGA but it is efficient.

Is this any good?

And is it safe for the card to run these settings 24/7?
(It can also do stock clocks @ 0.938V)

Btw. i played BF3 for 6 hours on these settings, few Crysis 2 multiplayer matches, heaven and 3dmark benches...i guess it s stable...

If anyone has some other way of testing stability please let me know.

Yeah, that's good and perfectly safe. You are around stock GTX 580 performance at those clocks.
My Gigabyte GTX570 SOC arrived earlier this morning and I'm having somewhat of a nightmare trying to overclock it.

Out of the box settings -

Even if I change the Memory clock from 950 (1900) to 1000 (2000) it results in Windows telling me the display driver stopped responding and has recovered. If I change the core clock of shader clock even slightly then 3DMark11 crashes and reports an error. On a few occasions the PC has restarted.

The rest of my system spec is in my sig and I'm using an Enermax Galaxy 850w PSU. The GPU temps seem perfectly fine, 28c idle and 58c under full load.

I just can't work out why the slightest increase in clocks results in failure.

Any tips and/or advice?

Have my card running at 870 core at 1075v for nearly a month and it's very stable.

55 to 65c during load, and 35c on idle. Have fan speed 10% higher than temperature in afterburer. Maybe i should push for 900 to 920 core on 1088 or 1.1?

@above dude. Try different drivers. 285.62 or 275.33. Put everything on stock. slowling increase core, leave memory at default, and make sure temps are in control and not exceeding 70c. Even low degree temps tend to go haywire because they are not stable. You need to go slowly, step by step.

For achieving something like 850 core, try 1.05v or 1063v and determine what's more comfortable to increase, voltage or core clock.

I wish I could say the Asus DirectCU II version is perfectly good but mine died for some unknown reason two days ago. Even at stock, it was a dud. This was random, after like three weeks of working perfectly. I can probably attribute this to bad luck, though. My brother's is still going strong.

You can immediately tell the Asus DirectCU II card has an amazing build and you can expect it to overclock decently well. I used to run it at 850 MHz GPU and 1100 MHz memory with MSI Afterburner at its 1125 mV voltage setting (I could probably have lowered this voltage a bit). Temperatures never exceeded 53°C in intense BF3 battles and never exceeded 60°C in FurMark. This was with MSI Afterburner's default fan profile. The fans went up to about 50% RPM in FurMark at 60°C and stayed there.

Cheers for the reply.

I'm using 285.62 at the moment but I might try rolling back if the problem still persists.

Even increasing the core slightly from 845 to 855 and shader from 1690 to 1710 results in the "driver did not respond" error occurring in windows.

Did u try bumping the Vcore a bit? U didnt mention doing that anywhere so u could try doing that...

And I had a Gigabyte gtx 560 ti factory OC to 900/2000 and it wouldnt OC any more than that...after a while i even had to bump up the Vcore a bit to keep it stable @ factory OC.

Cause of that i RMA the card and got this PoV gtx 570 for almost the same price...

Almost all of the Gigabyte cards r like that, they look fancy and r silent but they just preform lousy...thats my opinion anyways.

I bumped up Vcore to 1.075 but it makes no difference.

I'm a little disappointed if I'm stuck at the factory settings. One of the reasons I went for the Gigabyte card was a couple of reviews I'd seen where they were achieving quite respectable overclocks on this card.
