GTX 570 overclocking thread - Page 127

I'm at 850/1700 and 2050 on memory at 1.05 volts, what is a safe peak in temperature when gaming for long periods of time?

Gear mentioned in this thread:

I bet that's whats causing your TDR. MSI uses low HW driver injection while Gpu-z a bit different approach..
It does the same without either running. I just ran those in the background for the sake of the video.

I had the same problem with the Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti OC, had to bump the Vcore to have it stable @ stock and it wouldnt OC no matter what. I secessfully RMA the card btw...

Its Gigabyte that advertise theyr cards like they tested them extensivley when in fact they just OC the card and hope it works...

It s better to just buy a different card and OC ur self...it costs a lot less...or get a card with more phases but on stock clocks and again, OC ur self...
Agreed, Gigabyte haven't done enough testing to warrant a product release. They should test some out themselves and then release a BIOS update that defaults the stock voltage at a bit higher than 1038 mV. My Asus card defaults at 1038 mV voltage too but Asus only bumped up the GPU by 10 MHz as a stock overclock. Pathetic, but at least you know it's going to be stable with a stock voltage of 1038 mV, LOL. Like with every card, you can then just overclock it yourself providing you have good VRMs.

Thanks for all the help and advice.

The retailer has issued me with an RMA number and told me they're going to issue me with a full refund as they no longer stock this particular card (maybe they've had others returned?!?)

Any way assuming all goes to plan and I get a refund I'll have about £300 to play with. I was going to try and get a MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr III Power Edition but a lot of retailers in the UK either don't have any in stock or seem to have been waiting for stock for weeks.

Is there another 570 for similar money that's well respected on these boards?

eVGA 570 Classified and an Asus Directcu II 570 are the other cards that I like besides the MSI Twin Frozr III.

The two that I meantioned have a beefier power delivery system that will help with reassuring overclocks. I have the Asus card and couldn't be happier. It OCs pretty good and runs quiet. I modded the bios for 1.2v and use 1.15v 24/7 on it for the past weeks.

Let's see how it goes.

I've copied my BIOS using nvflash but how do you mod it to 1.2v? Looked at it with NiBiTor but everything is greyed out.

As it happens the Asus Directcu II 570 is one 570 they have in stock. I might get that instead then.

I haven't attempted overclocking past 815mhz with mine but it does that at 1065mv with memory at 2100. Gonnna push both higher this weekend. This is while gaming on bf3 too. I love the Asus card. I just wish in a way I got msi since their rma center is very close to home but the Asus card looked like they did more custom work to it and I love the brace too lol I'm even thinking about sli the Asus even though it's 3 slots

You need to use "tools" on top and edit with Fermi Volts.

2600K @ 4.9ghz
SLI GTX 570 DCII @ 925mhz
