GTX 570 overclocking thread - Page 147

What was the factory voltage and what did you need to run it? Just for my information pretty much

I will say though if the card didnt run the factory settings, you should be able to rma the card no problem. When they sell a card with a factory oc they guarentee it will run that out of the box pretty much. Anything above that isnt a promise though.

Your voltages seem like mine at those settings, 880mhz at 1088mv on bf3 but I keep it at 1100mv, I can do 890mhz at 1100mv but 900mhz at 1100mv will crash about 30mins into a game.

It's been quite a while since I ran it at default clocks and voltage. Voltage was 0.975 for the following clocks: 786/2100. This was stable for 95% of time. I was able to run benchmarks of all kind, Unigine, 3D Mark 11, Just Cause 2 benchmarks, without a hitch. I was even able to play Crysis 1 at max settings in DX10 for hours without any crashes. However once I got around to actually playing Just Cause 2, it would crash within minutes. I was completely dumbfounded, it did not make sense, especially after the card was always stable for everything else. So my first suspicions were directed towards Nvidia drivers or the game itself. But then when I tried playing Chronicles of Riddick, boom, same thing. So that is when I started to figure out what the issue was. In Afterburner I noticed Just Cause 2 was pretty much permanently maxing out my card. So I think I upped the voltage by one increment and it was rock solid at 0.988V. From there on out, Just Cause 2 (the actual game, not the benchmarks) were my go-to place for testing a solid overclock. Recently, the only game that was not stable after I thought it was Just Cause 2-proof, was Crysis 2 with all the bells and whistles, so I now test with Crysis 2. 885/2100 at 1.1V in Crysis 2 would crash to desktop after about an hour of playtime, so I set the core clock to 880 and ever since, it has been crash-free.

I know it is pretty bad and I should have RMA'd it, but this whole thing got a bit weird after me discovering that it is not 100% stable.
First off, my card came at 786/2100 @ 0.975 V. Now take a look at:

So I tried running the card with official specs and it was stable indeed. My factory overclock was stable if I upped the voltage by one increment in Afterburner.
At default settings of 786/2100 @ 0.975 V, 95% of the things I threw at it were stable, like Crysis 1, Unigine, 3D Mark 11, Just Cause 2 benchmarks.
Now I am really quite happy with the card, despite all these little issues. I will probably keep it for a really long time, maybe even just as a PhysX card, far down the road.
Should the day come where I would have to sell it, I would sell it locally and then I could either change the bios settings of the card, or I could simply tell people to use Afterburner to make their own tweaks...

No kidding. I guess it's no joke when they say:
"The Specification may change without notice. The actual products sold are different from areas. Please check the detailed Specification with your local dealers."

Hello everyone!

Sold my Sapphire 6950 Toxic for the same price I bought it for an upgraded to a GTX 570. Got the Asus with the Direct CU II cooler and man, what a HUGE difference. Runs 12 degrees cooler, and doesn't go above 60 when it's strained. Best of all - it doesn't sound like a jet. Now.... to overclock or not? smile.gif I'm actually really happy with the performance.

hey lads. i just biuld a new system and trying to overclock my gpu a wee bit, but i am not having much luck frown.gif.

i got ASUS GTX 570

i run heaven benchmark, but after few overclocked attepts heaven crashes and drop weird error ( something got removed ) or sometimes that drivers are not responding. Deos that just mean it is unstable and overclocked too much? or i got software problem? As my tempratures newer went higher then 51 on heaven benchmark...

the only OC setup i managed to run and not getting heaven to crash was this:

v1013 ( stock )
core 796Mhz
memory clock 1995Mhz

got 904 points in heaven benchmark with this setup. standart setup gave me 854.

alot of you pushing your 570 way more and with way higher temps. is that the limit for me? Or thats just heaven acting out?

Sounds a bit ambiguous. I'm betting on a software error, but it could be otherwise. What's the error exactly?

EDIT: I'd recommend trying a few other benchmarking utilities as well. You can single Heaven out that way.
