GTX 570 overclocking thread - Page 178

post #1771 of 2146
Okay guys, I have some info prepped up for you and I thought it was the time to post.

First of all, I tried lowering my Memclocks to stock, even a bit below (from 2280OC'ed down to 1900 stock, tried 1800 below it) - no performance nor stability gained.

Second, as my laz0r temp gun just arrived, I noticed that even with this cooling, I found the hotspot, it went up to 100.3 C while overclocked (with 2 monitors plugged!) and under Heaven. All in all besides that, the card is quite cool.

Regarding the quote, nothing has really helped me bump it furthermore. frown.gif Which is quite sad.

P.S. I got distracted by a laptop that came in for repairs and I lost my train of thoughts. If I remember something else, I'll edit. biggrin.gif Sorry!

Or I'm doing something wrong.
Upped it to 950 - crashed. Tried adding up volts /every single 0.012V step/ up to 1.1V and it still kept unstable.
Even tried lowering my memclock to 2200, even 2100.
I'm still quite happy tho ^^
Perhaps if you give me feedback on any instructions, I might try go high again. So far my utmost and completely stable profile is 945/2240/1890 @ 1.075V - not steady on the RAM, will see how up it will go.
EDIT: 950 @ 1.088 - went to bed so I didn't try 955MHz

I Just got my evga 570 classified to 960mhz stable with 1.1V Im doing a 2 hour burn with furmark to verify but I'm air cooling so I don't want to push it.

are there anyone that OC'd a gtx 570 phantom for a long time without burning it?

this only happen if you abuse too much from the card "I mean high voltage" many people here @ ocn and in others community think the card only "OC" with high voltage I have seeing some modded 570's with extra capacitors to hold up some more power just to see how far its goes but out there are many chip's that OC high with lower voltage same as CPU around here like those "SB" I have been OC my pairs of 570's since I got it, my first card I got from a member here and the other I both new from EVGA believe me the used card OC much more than the new. Perhaps I never went more than the stock voltage" 1.1v"
First card 964 I think @ 1.1v
Second card 934 @1.1v
All benchmarks with "SB"

When I get home I will post some 3Dmark results.

Edit: i hate reply post with crap phone all my msg get's mess up

just got a Palit GTX 570 Sonic Platinum from someone on OCN, this thing does 925/1850 and 2250 on air at 1.038v! Is this as good as I think? tongue.gif

I am guessing he meant AB for MSI Afterburner. One thing I have learned from these forums is that all GPUs will OC differently. Even same model from same manufacturer. I think 1.0 volt is very safe as long as you keep it cool. Anything below 80C should be fine, but lower is better. Set the volts @ 1.0 and see how far you can push the clock, while monitoring temps. Once you start seeing any artifacting, back off a little on the clock and you will have your max. I personally don't OC my GPU memory because I have seen little benefit in Games or Benchmarks and have read many stories here about fried GPU memory. Others see a benefit and OC the memory as well. You will have to decide what you need. 825Mhz is nothing to sneeze at...thumb.gif

Strange... i keep mem at 2000mhz, core at 880 and Vcore at 1050mv

I knock it up slightly just to 900mhz on core, it gets slightly unstable, so i put voltage up to 1100mv.

Then things start to get weird and my max temp in heaven goes from mid 70's up to 98 degrees C and still rising...

Anyone else encounter this?

I'm beginning to think i might manually measure my cards temps from VRM's and core....

SB = sandy bridge cpu
if you have no issues @ 825 wile gaming keep that way ( what is you voltage @ 825? ) , but if you want push it more you can its up to you.

This
But GPU memory helps you to gain more points in benches thumb.gif

it is normal temp for such high voltage and air cooling, *i'm not saying this is safe* because its not and if you don't have a good air flow in your case you should make it and lower you Voltage and OC and keep it below 80c

this is one of those reason i moved to Water cooler i realy don't like my hardware frying during gaming or bench's .
take a quick look here

SB = 25k 4.7@1.32 Hiest temp 63 under load
GTX 570 SLI = 930 Clock @ 1.1v with 2100 Memory hiest temp 48c
My First card OC much better than my second

The second card highest clock is 930 @ 1.1v the second card hold the first card this is what "
