im new to overclocking gpu's im running an asus gtx570 Direct CU II and in msi ab it says core voltage is 1013mV and 742/1484 and mem 1900

how should i go about ocing this card idle temp is 35 in gpu tweak monitor and 38 in msi @ auto fan 16%

what are the steps to a stable oc, what are considered high temps and should i use furmark heaven??

Hi ajvirus,
I also have the 570cuii, and I like it a lot. As far as OCing is concerned I would first find out how high it will go on stock voltages. Up it by 10Mhz at a time and run a stress test. Heaven is a good choice; I only use Furmark to check how it handles heat. Once you get errors on stock voltage, bump that up one notch and try again. At some point you will either reach your max voltage (what max is is up to you) or just keep getting errors. Back it off a little and use that. I setup profiles for mine, so I don't run OC all the time. I don't OC RAM because I have not seen significant improvements in benchmarks or gaming, others do so you need to see what is best for you. Mine is very cool running and stock fans work for most applications. Good luck, but remember not all cards OC the same even the same brand and model can vary widely. Hopefully you got a good one...thumb.gif

smart doctor is horrible.
Asus GPU tweak is its replacer and seems to be decent.
But I'd just stick with MSI AB. Better monitoring (actually monitors mem usage (or allocation, not sure, but anyway, Asus GPU tweak always displayed 1280 mb usage on mine))

Once you start the benchmark portion of Heaven just let it run through all the levels 26 I think. Accept the default settings. OC the GPU first. Once you get that stable then you can OC Memory and Shaders, if you want. I would suggest writing down your Heaven scores and which OC settings got them so you can decide which is best...thumb.gif

On the GTX500 series of cards the shader clock is always 2x of core clock. That is fixed in hardware.

Cheers,
