4xcore OC
6xcore OC
8xcore stock

Did not realize that CPU overclock really made this much of a difference with FPS.. But it dramatically changed FPS from Stock CPU to OC CPU. Crazy?

EDIT: I ran UNIGINE V3. and was stable... Must be the game then??

Eh... We have long been told that most games didn't stress CPUs at all. But Borderlands 2, for example, does run better on quad threaded processors with a higher overclock. Strange thing, Borderlands 2 isn't really that... beautiful of a game. You don't really see where it is all going. Yeah, Physx, but I'm a little shocked that is does stress your CPU so much.

Stable? Decent OC?

yea.. Borderlands 2 gets my Fans revin up smile.gif I didnt know that it stress the CPU that much tho.. Its crazy how much diff the FPS is..
Yea, I think borderlands looks kinda crappy compared to most PC games.. Like the new medal of honer, Looks amazing! But doesnt stress my CPU as bad as borderlands...

Yeah. But it doesn't really utilize past 4 cores very effectively. Intel 6 core chips run faster, but AMD 8 core chips run slower than Intel 4 core chips.

But you might try Windows 8. I hear it has much better optimization for AMD Bulldozer core design.
Same with Heaven, only utilizing 4 cores properly. Borderlands 2 is Physx, but a lot of shaders are being processed as well, along with Anisotropic Filtering, decals, foliage and ambient occlusion. Don't get fooled by the cartoonistic art direction tongue.gif

Depends on what kind of benchmarks you run it through, software fully optimized for multi-threaded tasks is where the 8-core AMD's really pull through, in games they can't keep up the pace though. Not in the un-playable way viewed from a 60fps-cap point of view, but when frames are unlimited, they fall through.

Vishera (Piledriver) seems to be an improvement all around versus Bulldozer. It even competes with Intel's Sandy and Ivy Bridge chips.
