Just ordered one of these puppies, been reading the burnout thread and how its been happening even without overvoltage enabled. Whats the general consensus here.. stay away from 1.1V alltogether? Stay below it, say 1.05?

1.075 is safe for most cards. Personally, I'd have a backup card handy for the duration of the RMA if I went over 1.08.

I usually have my 24/7 clocks @max oc w/ stock VID, and my benching clocks max/max. I guess I'll just pretend 1.1 doesn't exist and stick to 1.05 or something.

Very few have died at 1.1 and under. Those cards were faulty to begin with. Check out the steam survey the 570 is one of the hottest selling cards in the last 3 months. No surprise some are faulty it can happen to any series of card. Only difference is the 570 has a special thread where it gets announced and blown out of proportion. Some people have even lied and posted fake 570 numbers and got caught who knows how many didn't get caught. The real danger with the 570 is disabling OCP and running a stress program (kills 580's also) or disabling the voltage limit and going over 1.1 volts. If your card dies without doing those it was faulty RMA it.

+rep for the perspective.

I agree that if a card blows at 1.1v it is not doing what it is advertized to do. There are weak components, and blowouts happen. I recently had a power reg fail on a motherboard at a mild overclock, got an RMA, and can stress the new board as hard as I want since the new one isn't faulty. If a card fails at 1.1v or below, the user should not be blamed as long as the proper cooling precautions are observed. Best to blow out your components when they're new, so overclock and stress test now while you can still RMA. If it happens twice, you're either way out of the bell curve or foolish about your cooling system.

Hello all
Lately I had lots of BSOD I don’t post any codes because they are random never same. They always occur on startup right after windows logo. I have 3+ year old system. It was always stable over clocked on cpu 3.825 GHz Run Blend for 8 +h and OCCT without any errors I run it with 8800 GT and than 460 GTX. I decided to go with a newer GPU I purchased a 570 GTX fallowed by a new corsair PSU 850W to support the new card and SLI in the future. I went on line and read that lots of guys pushing their card with decent overcooks without any issues.
So here I am very excited about the card I Installed New PSU Over clocked the card to 900 MHZ 1.075V using MSI afterburner
And everything was going good played games like need for speed HP and some others that are not really very GPU demanding I mean that may be but not for 570 GTX . So here is Crysis 2 demo showed up and with the demo all sorts of BSOD.
First that would start during Crysis Game play crashes and freezes I figured out that may be temps so I went over to MSI Afterburner and created a custom fan profile that helped me to avoid BSOD. Not for too long Instead I got them on startup. I figured it’s probably bad over clock of my card maybe I’m not as lucky as other guys I down clocked it to factory speeds. The BSOD was still there over and over at startups and restarts but not every single time but for most of it. So I think well I ran like 3 different GPUs before in this system maybe it’s time to format so I go ahead I format my pc install all the drivers very happy I don’t see any BSOD so very confided here I go install afterburner and over clock the card. Restart the pc and BSOD again down clock to factory oc BSOD again.
Temps are fine. I read Norton 2011 could be the case of BSOD uninstalled it and still had BSOD. I don’t have a second system to run every single component so could you guys suggest anything I would really appreciate

Did you driver wipe the computer before installing the new card? Try running everything at stock and see if it changes and then try overclocking your CPU first and see if it persist. If it still does, downclock the CPU and try overclocking the GPU, if it stops you can narrow it down to your CPU. also try doing the opposite too to narrow it down to your GPU. I'm sure your PSU is fine or else it would shut down rather than BSOD.
