I have two references that hold up to 1.1v without a problem, I suggest get it out of the way now and if you have a problem you can RMA it quickly and hopefully get one that doesn't mind a little voltage through it.

I am planning on buying an MSI N570GTX TwinFrozr III Power Edition/OC as soon as I can save up the $320 to get one... Hoping for over 950 stable.

You should have no problem with that. I was at 950/1900/2270 @ 1.1v and was fine in every game I have except Metro 2033. Temps weren't too bad at all on the stock cooler either, and Fan% at 85 percent (which I really don't think is that loud when you're shootin' away in Metro), but when I got around to tryin' out my new OC on Metro, after 20 minutes I saw a blue polygon and took it down to 920/1840/2200 and now it's perfect for 2 months and counting.

I read somewhere that the color of the artifacts you see when playing a game actually tell you what part of the card has too much stress on it. Does anyone know about this? Or have an updated list of what specific colors mean?

Hey new to overclocking GPUs. Got a baseline run with both CPU and GPUs at stock clocks then a run with CPU overclocked to 4.7Ghz and GPUs overclocked also. Hows this look?

I got mine to 925/1850/2150 3DMark 11 stable. Could have pushed the memory higher, but didn't think it made much of a difference. Manged to do a performance run and got over 7K marks. I beat out most GTX 580s.

I'm thinking about going 1.1v and OC the card to the max but the VRM ghost scares me...

Is the VRM problem gone or still there? (My Gainward is non-ref)

Only one way to find out My ref 570 never had issues and i've had it before that big thread was made.

I had an evga fry on me. It was fine for a week until all of a sudden I saw smoke coming out of my PC, lmao... it passed occt, furmark, etc, then I got OC scanner and noticed that my PC would just shut off when it started, and thats when it started baking

Thing was I was using the 6-pins from my old card, which only used 1 molex each... and I just now noticed that my card came with 6-pins that need 2 molexes each, lol. So I got that fixed, and right before anything I took it to 800 mhz and ran OC scanner and it was stable after 15 mins or so. Not going to mess with it anymore

I'm using a Asus GTX 570 Direct CU II. Latest 275.33 drivers. I'm OC'ing with MSI Afterburner 2.20 beta 3 and testing with OCCT 3.1.

Basically, on stock voltage, which Afterburner says is 0.975, I somehow manage to get errors to be detected with a whopping huge over clock of 753Mhz Core. Thats right, a 1.5% boost, an entire 11 Mhz, turns my GPU into a *****. Mind you its only a few errors, but I want ZERO. Ok, so I thought, hmm lets boost this voltage up, lets see if that fixes things. I start out high. I push it to 1.1 volts the max I can go. After a few minutes it crashes my computer. It doesn't give me a blue screen, grey screen, any color screen. It appears that the driver crashes, and the entire system halts. I have to hard reset the computer to do anything.

Ok, to make it more clear, I literally left the clocks on STOCK and only changed the voltage and it crashed my computer. Okay I thought, maybe it just cant handle that much voltage, strange. Many hours of testing later, I'm at my wits end.
Every time my computer crashed, I dropped the voltage. Every time I saw an error, even one, I dropped the speed.

[/spoiler]
It seems like this is a common denominator with the DirectCU2 , for you , me and Evo X . I think we were all fooled by ASUS and its gimmicks .

I could sometimes get a somewhat short yet enjoyable session of gaming with no crashes when I wasnt playing maxed out , but eventually it DID crash .

http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/1055...something.html

heres my story with this card that I purchased brand new from newegg .

that problem is all over the newegg reviews , the same basicly happened to me after 2 days. Ran stock @ the beginning , said to myself i wouldnt OC , it crashed , tweaked it and it crashed , whatever I do it crashed .

I bought the tf3 oc/pe , I rma my 570 DirectCU2 because it couldnt run crysys for more than 1 hour on HIGH without crashing 1920 * 1200 , forget VH and super AA , it also couldnt run metro at very high for 5 minutes on this resolution , gave me red/green artifacting and jittering before the driver crashed closing with task manager .

I have seen the green checkered rectangles you spoke about

I have also seen totally BSOD that needed hard shutdown ( some people say its my PSU but I doubt it )

I had to fight for 5 hours once just to get my comp to recognize the card , had to reformat . Tested 2033 max setting @ 1920*1200 and crashed after 5 minutes each time , one of those times permanently damaged the drivers , had to reformat .

Hope to find stability in my next 570 , most important for me .

Also this one is alot shorter , DC2 sags and I had to install a wooden support and that screwed in my hd box cuz it was sagging so bad .

350$ for an unstable piece of unreliable junk that will constantly need you to reboot and re-install the drivers because one out of every 5 crashes or so damages the drivers .
