http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/1055...something.html

heres my story with this card that I purchased brand new from newegg .

that problem is all over the newegg reviews , the same basicly happened to me after 2 days. Ran stock @ the beginning , said to myself i wouldnt OC , it crashed , tweaked it and it crashed , whatever I do it crashed .

I bought the tf3 oc/pe , I rma my 570 DirectCU2 because it couldnt run crysys for more than 1 hour on HIGH without crashing 1920 * 1200 , forget VH and super AA , it also couldnt run metro at very high for 5 minutes on this resolution , gave me red/green artifacting and jittering before the driver crashed closing with task manager .

I have seen the green checkered rectangles you spoke about

I have also seen totally BSOD that needed hard shutdown ( some people say its my PSU but I doubt it )

I had to fight for 5 hours once just to get my comp to recognize the card , had to reformat . Tested 2033 max setting @ 1920*1200 and crashed after 5 minutes each time , one of those times permanently damaged the drivers , had to reformat .

Hope to find stability in my next 570 , most important for me .

Also this one is alot shorter , DC2 sags and I had to install a wooden support and that screwed in my hd box cuz it was sagging so bad .

350$ for an unstable piece of unreliable junk that will constantly need you to reboot and re-install the drivers because one out of every 5 crashes or so damages the drivers .
I think I've heard several others running the dc2's version of the 570 at >900mhz stable. I think they don't bin their gpu's in the slightest. It'd be nice if they did, at least text them at stock.

I got myself a new Gigabyte 570 OC today and have been doing some quick OC tests this evening. Using Afterburner & Kombustor so far I've got to 880/1760/2000 on 0.988v (which I assume is stock). Haven't found its limit yet. I can't figure out how to unlock voltage control - updated the Afterburner cfg file and the settings but still no good - maybe I need the beta version. Still it doesn't look like I need voltage control with this thing!

Only problem with the card is that it's got noisy capacitors. Initially I was thinking I'd take it back, but now I see how well it OC's I think maybe I should put up with it. I'll post again when I've found its limits - need to play some games now!

How well does this 570 overclock?

I got it clocked to 825mhz at .988 atm, seems to be running fine, but I am not sure how much I should push it. I recall people frying 570s when they first came out...

Got the same one, EVGA is amazing. Excellent customer service and warranty. Had it for a while before I got the nerve to OC it, since I'm really new at all of that type of stuff. Anyways, I was running at 950/1900/2270 @ 1.1v and was stable, with decent temps on stock cooling and custom fan curve in Afterburner, in every game but Metro. So I went down to 920/1840/2200 @ 1.063v and it's working perfect in every game I've thrown at it. Had it OC to this for the past month, playing pretty much every day, and no problems at all and no temps over 76C, which is nothing for this card. PLUS, all you gotta do is register it in the first 30 days with EVGA and you get a free extended 3 year warranty, and overclocking DOES NOT void the warranty, as long as you don't flash to a different BIOS version to get the voltage above 1.1v. I would definately get this card and register it for the extended warranty, then shoot for a 920mhz core

Update; This card may be an awesome overclocker, but I can't stand the buzzing noise, coil whine as some call it. It's getting replaced. Hopefully I can get a quiet one. If not I might have to go back to ATI.

Does anyone have a quiet GTX 570 (no coil whine)?

I have had 6 diff 570s, haven't killed a one by the way, but 3 of em whine. the other 3 didn't. Its just luck of the draw.. Exchange for one that doesn't do it.. Its defective in my eyes if it squeels.

My 2 don't whine, but I do turn up the fan a bit

My single 570 also wines at full usage. No idea if it did with the stock cooler.
