Does anyone have a quiet GTX 570 (no coil whine)?
I bought the DCII primarily due to recommendations for quiet performance. I do not hear any coil whine. Also MSI Afterburner I set the fans to not cross 45%. You'll only start to notice the fan at 50%. My OC is error free with OCCT 1hr. 860/2200. I am folding right now and temps are at 50C.

Thanks for that. Yeah I love the card other than the buzzing. Fans are nice and quiet. Hopefully I can get another one.

Usually when a GPU whines like that it is because of the copper wound pieces, which are vibrating because of the electrical charge going through them. If you put a dab of hot glue our clear mail polish onto the copper, it won't vibrate nearly as much and will be a lot quieter.

However, this will void your warranty if you don't make sure to take it off before you RMA... I am not sure what nail polish remover does to PCB so maybe hot glue is your best bet because it's a bit easier to remove.

Ok now I see why that guy gave me the "........."

So I ran OC scanner for 15-20 mins, no artifacts at all @ 900 mhz, GPU stayed under 80C the whole time @ 1.063v.

Decided to take it for a few gaming runs, it ran Crysis 2 completely maxed at 60fps, totally smooth. But when I played BLOPS I'd get this framerate hitching where it'd skip intermittently, and skip a lot when I was shooting at people or had a lot of action on screen. It was similar to playing on a really lossy wifi connection, but I'm 99% sure it was the card causing the hitching.

at 800 mhz, stock volts, it didn't do this.... it wasn't the shader warming option or anything, it was definitely the card, because MW2 did the same thing shortly before my other 570 smoked up... so what could be the cause?

I`m not going to cry if I cant get my precious 900 mhz, because this card owns enough already at stock, but it'd be nice to know that I could take it higher (like the creed song) in the future if need be

Hi guys, been following this thread for a while and i thought i'd ask this question. My gtx 570 sc currently clocks in at 845/1690/2000 @ 1.00v. I'm happy with it as it idles in the low 40's and at max settings in crysis 2, just cause 2, shogun 2, and the witcher 2 for 3 hours a piece, my temps are at 80 solid. Been running this way for a month now. I've tried to just to overclock the voltage further and pushing the core and memory further using afterburner by following the settings on the first post by others but any attempts either end up in a BSOD a few minutes in game or my monitor blacks out and the card's fan is running at 100%, only fix is to hard reboot, in any graphic intensive game. OCCT and OC scanner shows no errors after a 15 minute run but to me that is not real time so i don't depend on it as much as a 3 hours hard gaming session. Any idea why my card is doing this? I'm probably gonna leave it at the current settings but just throwing the question out there to see if any of you guys are having the same issue. Thanks

BSOD or hard resets usually either mean your GPU is overheating or your power supply can't handle the additional voltage.

I think it needs more voltage, and a better fan profile, keep it a bit cooler.
