Second, verify your core voltage with gpu-z or something. It's probably somewhere around 0.95v...It shouldn't be at 0v. The voltage feature is probably locked for your card, like it is for mine.

^^I also cannot unlock the voltage for my card. Does anyone have suggestions? I checked the boxes under settings to unlock the voltage modifier, and I am running afterburner 2.1.0 which supports unlocking the vcore on the GTX570.

When I OC my video card I take it slow by going in ~5mhz steps on the core and shader clocks and then running 3D mark 11 to check stability. Then, you can start tweaking the memory clock. Obviously, if your core voltage is unlocked you're going to want to increase that first.

I don't know what a safe voltage would be on your card since it looks like a reference card with average cooling (feedback on newegg confirms this). Anyone else have an idea about a safe voltage for the MSI nGTX570?

Weak capacitor, RMA for a new card. I had the same issue, new card has no buzzing

1.1v is the max safe voltage for any 570. That's why it's capable of going up to 1.1v and that's why companies offer a warranty for a card that goes up to 1.1v. Of course there's going to be a few pieces of faulty hardware out of thousands, but no one has posted anything about a dead card recently. And since all companies RMA the cards under warranty, and because we could see 100 people come on here and say they've blown their cards, but we wouldn't hear about the tens of thousands of people happily owning and overclocking their cards and not feeling the need to go online and complain, since everything is working fine. So, there's probably a 0.01% chance your card will blow, and even if it does you can RMA because your (hopefully) under warranty. So, go up to 1.1v while making sure temps are below 85C, enjoy your card.

Nice Seems that my cards are completely stable with 1.056v at 900/2000. Heaven 2.5 benchmark went through multiple times (61.1fps with 4xAA/16xAF extreme tesselation @ 1080p). And have been playing Crysis 2 aswell.

Sick cards! Max temperature i have seen on top card is 69c

See what you can hit at 1.1v and let's see what they can really do

I use Asus' GPU Tweak (similar to Afterburner) to automatically set the voltage depending on what Core speed I specify. So I picked 810 @ 1025mV and 3900 Memory (I read here that increasing Memory speed doesn't make a huge difference). And set a custom fan profile. Stable so far in all games (Deus Ex, StarCraft, Team Fortress)

I'm working on verifying mine stable at 900/1800. I really like this card better than the 6970's I just bought in CF. Even a single 6970 is loud as hell at 35% fan speed and idles at 62*C. 570 is quiet still at 65%fan speed and benches at 99% use the same temp my 6970 idles at, and is faster/OC's better.
