Check AMD Overdrive in CCC. Turn down the fan speed?

I think you missed a hotfix some where for the drivers. I'm not hefty on knowledge of ATI drivers (I shudder at the thought of having them, personally) - but I know there are a couple of hotfixes for different versions of the main releases (10.5, 10.7, 10.10 etc). redface.gif

Check the hotfixes is all I can think of, otherwise it's got to be memory related some how (hard freezes are a good sign of memory issues, usually).
