TF2 Update

Source Engine Changes (CS:S, DoD:S, TF2, HL2M)

Improved sv_pure:
- Materials / Models / Sounds / Animations are more comprehensively protected.
- Switched from CRC to MD5 hashes for stronger per-file validation.
- Fixed some issues between custom files and server whitelists over level changes.
- Added HL2:MP to the list of dedicated server games when starting a server via the Tools tab in the Library

Team Fortress 2

- Added Medieval Mode, a game mode where players are restricted to using olde weapons.

'Your Eternal Reward' changes:
- Spies can now change their disguise weapon via 'lastdiguise' while using 'Your Eternal Reward'
- Already-disguised 'Your Eternal Reward' Spies are no longer forced to switch to displaying the melee weapon when they make a kill
- Spies no longer play speech lines when making a kill with 'Your Eternal Reward'
- Sentries no longer track 'Your Eternal Reward' Spies after they backstab someone

'Natascha' changes:
- Spin-up time increased.
- Slowdown-on-hit effect is reduced over distance.

- Added 'The Medi-eval Medic', 'The Hibernating Bear', and 'The Expert's Ordnance' item sets.
- Added new weapons: 'The Claidheamohmor', 'The Back Scratcher', 'The Boston Basher', 'The Fists of Steel', 'The Amputator', 'The Crusader's Crossbow', 'The Ullapool Caber', 'The Loch-n-Load', 'The Buffalo Steak Sandvich', 'The Brass Beast', 'The Warrior's Spirit', 'The Candy Cane', and 'The Jag'.
- Added 20 new hats.
- Added a prototype item testing map, and associated functionality, for contributors to test their work. Further details in an upcoming blog post.
- Spies can now see TargetID's of players and objects regardless of their own disguise status.
- Fixed some speech lines continuing after the speaker changes class
- The Spy 'Sap Auteur' achievement now increments in cases where the Spy was the assister in the building destruction.
- Fixed the arrow burning effect getting stuck on if you changed class in a respawn room with your arrow lit.
- Fixed a Flamethrower bug that allowed players to rapidly fake the Pyro's airblast effect.
- Throwing the Jarate or Milk now returns you to your previous weapon, instead of your Primary.
- Added leaderboard to track duel wins.
- Added ability for players to donate money directly to the creators of their favorite community maps.
- Increased backpack size by 100 slots.

Luckily my HUD doesn't seem to be broken.

I opened 3 Festive Crates and got 2 Pyro Rakes. I got a new spy hat in the third one.

But this whole Mann-Co store thing is starting to get pretty stupid. Paying $5 for more inventory? Really, Valve?
The whole Medieval mode thing got me excited. Thought it was going to be a vanilla mode. I am disappoint Valve.

Oh how I miss vanillia TF2. They should of just made a TF MMO the way they're going.

New update is pretty bad as far as I'm concerned, the new polycount weapons need 2 reclaimed now("old" polycount only requires 1). The new polycount weapons themselves are pretty meh.

Yeah, I agree that some of the additions to TF2 are dumb, and when I play my 360 version, it feels 100x different.

But all in all, it still plays the same, it just has 10000000x more features, which is awesome.

Valve could be like Activision and charge for every extra thing that is released to the game. Thank God Valve is stil faithful to PC gamers.

Totally. The game has such a gimmicky feel anymore.

Here's my "I'm back from vacation" Necro.

I think there has been a ton of new content, and it made me uneasy too. However, at least on the servers I frequent, it isn't breaking the game. All these new items are just there. I crafted the loch n load and the brass beast, got a gloves of running urgently and ushanka drop.

Demo will probably stay vanilla, but the heavy updates are awesome.

I think paying $20 for an item is way stupid, but if it brings money to the developer and I can continue having good games with an increasing variety of balanced gameplay, bring it on. I've been continuing to have good games on pub servers with all manners of loadouts. None as annoying as any of the first class updates released long ago.

I haven't gotten into TF2 after they started releasing all of those new items. It's no longer fun and overwhelming for me.

If you stuck with it after the updates or the first initial ones, sure, I could understand that. But if you haven't gotten into TF2 since nearly Vanilla (or just the class updates & hats)

It's not the same game anymore, at least, to me it isnt.

I remember when I was the first one that released a plugin to unlock the hats, and would allow you to wear them on any class. Now, Valve broke that (so they think... haha) and charge you for hats.

As for them being Loyal? I don't think they are loyal as long as they let some of the exploits go by since day one. Like me, and some others, they know of exploits to easily crash any server any time. Valve knows about it, but does nothing to fix it.

THey'd much rather add a hat or 5 since it has bigger income.

I haven't gotten into TF2 since vanilla either. TF2 is actually starting to remind of Guild Wars however weird that might sound. I wish that they would of made TF2 true to its roots without the cartoony graphics, made it more skill based a long with it and left the gimmicky stuff behind.
