Don't worry, there isn't a whole ton of difference between 3.6ghz and 3.9-4.0ghz anyways.

Those are some really nice upgrades man you should see a very noticeable boost in performance. I look forward to seeing some vantage scores once you get everything and get it stable.

Thanks bro. I will definitely have all my parts before Friday the 24th and I will be posting my Vantage and 3DMark06 scores once I get my Q6600 stable at 3.6GHz and I'm hoping (really hoping) I can get 800MHz core on my GTX470

With $500 dollars, would it have been possible to upgrade to i5? I'm not so sure

Anyways, enjoy your new i5, I'm sure it would smoke my Q6600

I'd say 6870 it's as fast as 5870 or even a little faster in some games, the 460 768mb version is supposedly crippled so if you want 460 go for the 1GB mode but for about $260 I would rather step it up to a 470. 6870 = 5850 replacement, 6970 = 5870 replacement. AMD marketing scheme like how Nvidia renamed card #'s to confuse you.

But yeah I'd definitely get 6870 or step up that 460 to a 470 in that price range.

enjoy your q6600...i have go stepping and you can overclock it to the clouds.

Do you think the q6600 will bottleneck the 470 at all? I'm thinking of upgrading the gpu this year to that card.

OP your avatar owns...i just saw one of his movies yesterday.
