eyefinity vs nvidia solution

So I know you need 2 cards in SLI to get nvidia's version of eyefinity.

Is there a review on this and how it works compared to AMD eyefinity?

I do not care about 3d at all, zero interest.

How does nvidia compare to AMD (3 screen scaling)? Is it as good?

I think you are going to see a similar performance with 2x 580 in surround vision (nVidia) vs the 6970 eyefinity.

However the 6970 is cheaper than the 580 and the 6970 certainly had eyefinity in mind when adding the 2gb of ram, albeit slower than the 580, to the 6970.

Here is a (slightly old) review of how Nvidia's Surround (3-monitor setup) works and it has a comparison with Eyefinity from a pair of HD5870 2GB EF6 and a pair of HD5870 1GB.
Basically, Nvidia's Surround works just as fine, with its own pros and cons, of course.

Here is a most recent review of the HD6950/6970. And on pages 17 and 18, Eyefinity and Nvidia's Surround (2D) is compared in ''2-way SLI vs Crossfire'' and ''3-way SLI vs Tri-fire''.
The conclusion is just similar, Nvidia works well too, with pros and cons.

I guess I am wondering if there are more issues, less game support, that kind of stuff. AMD seems to have lead the market.

I am considering dual 570's but I also want eyefinity...

Edit, was typing this while you posted that info windfire. Thanks!

Honestly for an Eyefinity setup I would go with 2 6970s that is trully what they are built for and I think you will be really happy.

If you said 2560x1600 I would say 2x570, but I really think you see better performance with eyefinity.
