I would recommend the 570 because I just got one myself and EVGA has a great customer service

Not too many people game with that big of a resolution... So the 570 is the logical choice here..

570 > folding, physx, tessellation, faster, no brainer.

OP what size monitor and what resolution do u game at? if its lower than 1080p I would honestly suggest a 5870 as that will run any game u want and save u over 100 bucks from the prices ur looking at.

Whatever you do, don't let the facts get in the way of your imagination. So you say:
1) 570 is cheaper - correct
2) it's faster - incorrect, they're about the same, depending on game and resolution etc.
3) higher oc % - we don't know what the 6970 is capable of yet, the voltage is locked.
4) and better drivers - debatable
5) and quieter - incorrect, they're about the same, looking at several reviews.
6) and less power - incorrect, the 6970 uses less power than the 570. From reviews:
AnandTech - Load Power Consumption - Crysis
570 = 361 Watts
6970 = 340 Watts
(I'll ignore Furmark as it's limited, but amd much less)

Hardware Canucks - 1hr 3DMark Batch size test (the only review I've seen suggesting the 570 uses less power)
570 = 337 Watts
6970 = 364 Watts

Guru3d, which calculates the GPU load:
570 = 213
6970 = 207

And HardOCP, which calculates total system
570 = 454W
6970 = 428W

And BitTech
570 = 330
6970 = 306

7) and evga & asus vs powercolor & xfx - what? Asus also make the 6970, as do other good brands.

The 6970 runs hotter, thats been said in several reviews.

Other then that, the 570 wins more times at 1080P/1200P, while the 6970's 2GB VRAM helps it edge the 570 at 1600P.

Both are great GPU's.
IMO the 570 is the better choice, these drivers are much smoother and this thing overclocks to 580 performance effortlessly.

It's a little early to make too many comparisons on drivers IMO. I think the 570 is a great card though.
