Cheapest 6970 on newegg is 380 from a quality brand, cheapest 570 is 370 from evga and 360 for the rest of the quality brands. I would go with whichever really. If you plan on using this card for over a year then 6970 since the 2gb ram will make this card have more future usability, the cards are on average like 1-2% difference in performance and 6970's drivers are immature so they will be about even when drivers become more mature. Then again the 6970 runs hot so it might not be practical to CFX unless you have very good airflow if you were planning on doing that

um go w/ an ATi card if you want to run a single GPU for multiple displays, honestly that's why I'm w/ the red team

MSI 6970 + afterburner is supposed to be faster than the 570 (stock) and have a higher overclock potential, but that is only of you overclock the card through afterburner. Also, nVidia cards cannot do multiple monitors from one card and sli scaling sucks (almost as bad as crossfire). But, nVidia has better drivers and with an amd card you might have to wait for on games like f1. However, the 570 also has less memory so a few games with large (more like huge) textures will feel like they are running on a low-end card

PS. Might be mistaken on the multiple monitor thing, they might have fixed.

Since when does Fermi SLI scaling suck on the 500 series and gtx460's? What are you smoking? It's nearly 100% on the 460's and the 500's it's easily in the 90's.

tbh ive always found that even my 9800's in Sli are still rocking away lol
