I need a UPS, where to buy?

Where can I find a good UPS? My computer uses about 500w at full load and 75w idle.

What brands are good? Where should I buy it from?

Here's a couple hundred to pick from.

APC and TrippLite are some of the more common and recognized brands. Choice really comes down to wattage/load, and how long you want the PC to run when the power goes out. APC units usually come with shutdown software that will trigger your PC to shutdown when the power dies. So, if your just trying to execute safe shutdowns, the smaller units are usually fine. If you are trying to actually run the PC for a while, it can get very costly.

Newegg is pretty reliable, I've ordered from them quite a few times, as have many hundreds of members here on OCN. They are the one-stop-shop for alot of people here.

Cyberpower is a decent brand, and doesn't use proprietary batteries like APC does so the replacement cost is 1/4th as much.
