Best Laser Printer for under $300

I'm looking for a laser printer that's under $300. I have one problem though, I don't really know when I'm going to use color. Most of the time I use the printer for school projects (documents, excel, and some other things). It's by chance I'll use color (Maybe 1 or 2 middle school projects will use color. I don't really know. I also have an old HP Inkjet but it's gotten kind of slow. It has color obviously). Here are a couple I've found so far...

Black & White
-HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn Printer
-Brother HL-2270DW Compact Laser Printer with Wireless Networking and Duplex

Color
-Epson WorkForce 1100 Wide-Format Printer
-HP LaserJet Pro CP1525nw Color Printer

I can still consider Ink Jet printers but lasers tend to be slower. Here's an Ink Jet I thought was nice...

-Epson Artisan 50 Ink Jet Printer

It's optional but if Ink Jets are the better choice for me, then I'll get an Ink Jet.

Any recommendations are fine. Thanks!

but otherwise i can tell you that i am also considering buying a color laser printer and i had my eyes on HP Color LaserJet CP1025 ... its failry slow when printing color, but then again i am only a student and dont print that much

my dad uses a brother mfc 74xx (not really sure which model, but has copy, scan and print) and for the last 4 years it behaved admirably (good prints, fast ... not sure of the specs but sometimes i print reports on it and they are about 15pages long and are printed under 1min after a 20ish second warmup) ... in short i like brother

what i dont like is konica minolta ... my printer is a konica minolta and its total and utter ****. they dont provide 64bit drivers, it takes forever to warm up, it never prints more than 2 pages together without me opening and closing the lid

HP/Lexmark lasers are my top choice. Probably Lexmark over anything right now, they build some of the best laser printers available... HP is not far behind either, and have a great reputation.

I think Brother's winning. What about the two I posted earlier which I linked to Amazon?

Edit - I only need to print. I don't need to copy or fax or scan.

Uh, any decent laser is going to be WAY faster than an inkjet, at least for multi-page jobs. That said, look at the HP p2055d - it's a beast of a B and W laser.

Ok. I just compared and Brother's lasers are faster.
