Overclocking AMD Phenom II X6 1090T BE

Thread Starter
Hey guys.

I am trying to overclock my AMD Phenom II X6 1090T CPU from 3.02GHz to 4.3GHz-4.4GHz. I am running into some boot issues. Obviously it could either be a multiple number of things:
  • CPU Voltage
  • CPU/NB Voltage
  • HT Link/Voltage
  • DRAM Freqency & Voltage
  • NB Voltage
  • ...and/or CPU Frequency/CPU Multiplier.
I am not sure. My RAM is DDR3-1600 Corsair Dominator sticks.

Specs:
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T BE
ASUS Crosshair IV Formula BIOS v1102
Cooling: Corsair Hydro H70
4GB DDR3 RAM
and etc etc.
-------------
Above all, I am able to get a stable OC of 3.8-4.01GHz by using the following settings:
Bus Freq: 205
CPU Ratio/Multiplier: x16 (ish)
CPU Voltage: 1.28v-1.3v
DRAM & other Voltages at AUTO.

I just can't get to 4.3-4.4GHz stable...it ends up BSODing me with no information about the STOP error. Just says like to check my disk for errors or some crap. I've ran MemTest86 for over 48 hours and it reports nothing wrong with my Memory at all.

Any help?
Thanks.

try these settings
fsb 230x16
cpu/nb at 1.325
nb at 1.2
cpu at 1.4
ht link at 1.2
keep ht link as close to 2000 as you can

Corsair Dominator: http://www.corsair.com/products/dominator/default.aspx

PC Probe II shows my NB and SB voltage. Look in attachment.

EDIT: Note, I have reset my BIOS, so it's running at 3.02GHz stock again.

Current CPU-Z Result:

Result when it was 4.3GHz:

I don't know what's wrong...I mean, when I did that CPU-Z validation at 4.3GHz it was stable, but when I pushed a little more to 4.4GHz it goes terribly wrong. Worst thing about it is, I don't remember my settings for 4.3GHz.

the simplest way to oc a black edition is a multi thats why its unlocked. try just a multi and then start doing a fsb what are your temps at? and also did you try to keep the ht at about 2000? It goes up automaticly on my board when I increase the FSB. I have to back it down

Alrighty.

Give me some settings to what I should try, and I'll set them. My temps are on PC Probe II. The screenshot of my desktop has them.

Currently the CPU temp is at 27'C. It's been 25-27'C for nearly 35-40 minutes.

CPU Temp: 25-27'C
NB Temp: 35'C
SB: 25'C
MB: 19'C

try a multi of 20 with I think a fsb of 215 with a core volt at 1.4 then put your multi for your nb at 15 that will give you a 3000 nb cpu with a voltage around 1.3 maybe more needed not sure with your board Ohh make sure you lower your ht speed to about 2000 and you might need to adjust your ram speed with the fsb oc not sure how your board works but on mine whenever I increase the fsb it changes ram and ht speeds

Try my settings(pic).

Turbo V shows my BIOS settings
For memory use what is on the memory sticker. Speed will be almost 1600MHz(1586MHz). You might need higher Memory voltage.
Enable LLC for both CPU & CPU/NB. (AUTO might be good too)
Dont know if your cooler will be able to cool your CPU
