[IH] California’s First Molten Salt Solar Energy Project Approved. - Page 4

knowing our government, i think the problem will be more in the legislation of such plans, and the oil companies paying them to keep these types of energy sources away from their markets. i think it is more sensible to get honest lawmakers first, that care about the people, then we will see these types of plans come in naturally.

I'll take it.We have got to get one of these for every major city in the country. We need to put up wind powered turbines, harness the tides and waterways, and drill for oil damn it.

I wonder how much power this thing will be able to make at 4AM during the long winter nights...still glad to see they're getting rid of some combustion-based power plants for something greener.

This is an awesome idea. The less we depend on "non-renewables" the better.

Looks like a good idea. Reminds me of the power plant in Sahara. Hope this one does not produce toxic chemicals! The problem with nuclear is that it produces toxic waste which one way or the other must be safely contained for at the very least thousands of years - and that's true no matter how you process it. Also let's not forget there are many nuclear accidents every year only none of them are critical, doesn't mean toxic and possibly radioactive material is not released. So unless we invent some virtually fool proof way to shoot our nuclear waste into the sun ala Superman, nuclear will always face opposition.

I'm shocked they're doing it so soon, in just a year construction will hopefully begin.

I like this idea, double time energy!
Add magnets for moar POWER!

Yes, there is one in Almeria, a city near Granada...and is capable of supply energy to a big city like Sevilla.
