Upgrading SSD ?

Thread Starter
hey guys i got a intel 25-v 6 months ago and its been the biggest speed increase to my system than any other component. Im looking to upgrade from it to something greater soon, my question is whats good for a reasonable price ? and would raid 25-v's been worthwhile ? or just buy a higher end ssd and sell off my current 25-v ?

also are pci ssd's better than sata ?

thanks for any help

PCI Express has a ton more bandwidth but they are also very expensive and I am not too sure about TRIM support on them as well as some other types of compatibility.

PCI Express SSDs... AT THE MOMENT are pretty much just cheap SATA controllers combined with SATA SSDs on a card...

So it's down to:

1. how many free SATA ports you have
2. how many free PCI-Express ports you have
3. do you enjoy Silicon Image's SIL3124 SATA controller
4. do you believe the RAID hype wink.gif

I would wait a bit if you can and see what G3 Intel and SATA 6Gb/s Sandforce look like

otherwise I would save up and buy a big C300 or a Samsung 470 series...
Sandforce is another option...

the difference from X25-V will mainly be capacity and benchmark wins
