Blue HAF X

Thread Starter
Hey guys, i'm intending to buy the HAF X and this is my first time building/buying a computer assembly. So I was wondering, what are the items that I need to buy to LED mod it in whole blue? (Red is too harsh of a color)

Thx

- Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM
- CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-850HX 850W
- Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield
- COOLER MASTER HAF X
- EVGA SuperClocked GeForce GTX 570
- G.SKILL PI (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 6-8-6-24 or G.SKILL PI (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600
6-8-6-20 (Still thinking)
- Noctua NH-D14
- ASUS Sabertooth X58 LGA 1366
- Windows 7 pro 64bit

The red that is in mine isn't loud. I actually thought it was going to be more intense, but I like the way it is. My CPU cooler has a lil red LED and my mobo is red/black and it looks pretty nice together, of course it is a AMD machine. You are going green I see, I hope your blue mod works out for you.

Can any1 help me out on this? :0

There's only one red led lit fan. Replace it with a blue led lit one.
There are two led's for power-on and hdd activity. Replace them with blue ones.
What's the problem? It gets no simpler than this.

Well a blue theme is very simple.
But you're going to have to change a hell load of fans to obtain the blue.

The HAF X comes preinstalled with red LED fans.
I recommend selling them first and on the budget buy other blue fans.

As for the lighting, cold cathodes are the best option because they are large and cover a big area (the HAF x is quite enormous).

Gigabyte is well known for blue motherboards, they don't sell any other colours.

There is only one fan you have to replace and it is the 250mm fan in the front. You can search for one, hard to find that will fit, or just replace the leds in the fan with blue ones. Something like this not sure if it is the right size or not though. You would have to look into that, I have been researching the same thing. Cant be too hard though I figure a few snips, solder, hot glue back in.

Yeah, just replace the red led's with blue ones.
I did this to my son's HAF 932 front fan, with blue LED's from radio shack, about an hour total from break down to booting up.

Radio Shack Blue LED's expensive.

Don't you mean 230mm? Btw, I want to fully blue LED gear it, not just one fan.. (I want an awesome look) But still, I don't no if switching the leds in only the front fan is enough for the blue inside-out light. Is it? Shouldn't I replace all the 4 fans with blue ones?

Only 1 fan on the case has red LEDs. None of the other fans have LEDs on them. If you want to replace the other fans with blue ones, I recommend this fan.
