Considering new LED-LCD monitor...Thoughts?

Thread Starter

Hey everyone, I really want to upgrade my Hansspree 25". It has been a great monitor but ever since I saw my friends LCD-LED I really wanted something a bit bigger and better in terms of quality too. I have my sights set on this one and just wanted your trust-worthy opinion. Thanks OC-Crew

Another question, Since this is a 120Hz can this TV do 3D with Nvidia?

Also Anyone with an LCD-LED monitor have any thoughts on how theirs has been or any personal thoughts are important too. Thanks! Happy holidays : )

Hmm, personally, I wouldn't want a monitor that big with only a 1080p resolution, unless I was sitting a good distance away from it, I suppose. I just bought a 27" samsung led lcd @ 1080p. Its really nice, the led backlighting is good too, but I really can't see myself going any bigger on a monitor without a higher resolution.

How is this monitor going to be set up? On your desk pretty close to your face, or are you going to have a wireless mouse/keyboard setup? Just something to think about

1080 monitors suck. You are better off getting a good 24" with 1920x 1200 rez. No use in getting a larger monitor if it looks like crap.

I agree you're better off with a higher resolution monitor, but I wouldn't go as far to say that 1080p monitors suck. The picture will still look good at 1080p, but it should look even better at 1920x1200.

At 32", you should be looking for 25XX by 16XX resolution.

25xx by 16xx is only on 30" monitors that I am aware of. The fact is 1920x1080 with AA on 4x provides a picture just as good as the higher resolution and will not impact performance nearly as bad. Im trying to get for reasonable price and quality over resolution.

Just make sure you got a quality brand and you should be fine. Just read specific reviews on the monitor you choose to make sure that particular model doesn't have any odd problems. You can't really go wrong with a modern monitor at the size and resolution you want.

How far away do you plan on sitting? 1080p should be okay and acceptable. 1080p at 32" isn't too bad but 37" would just me too much for me.
