Disappearing objects and textures on 480 AMP!

Hi guys,

i got a strange issue going on with my ZOTAC GTX 480 AMP! - i tested four games:

Fallout 3 and Oblivion (Gamebryo Engine)
Drakensang (Nebula Engine)
Crysis (Cryengine)

Thats three different engines and its mentioned so we don't blame it on the engine just like that.

Basically what happens is that in all of these games, some objects and textures (grass for example, landscape polygons) will either change (colors, shading) or appear / disappear completely when i move further away with my character. Its not like FAR away so that it would be justifyable.

In Crysis for example, i would walk and see a bunch of grass bushes - about 20 steps away. I would then walk backwards and the bushes would change color. Also the palm tree leaves will appear pixelated and shadows will flicker like wild.

My system specs are as follows:

I currently run NVIDIA drivers 260.99 and the drives all run in AHCI mode (i only use SATA drives). All my drivers are up-to-date, including chipset and all that comes along with it.

try lowering the clock speeds to reference 480 speeds, if that fixes your problem you need to RMA

Thanks melterx12!

So is it a common thing to have such issues coming along when using an overclocked card? I always thought the issues would be limited to artefacts.

Any suggestions as to which tool i should use to lower the clocks?

Ps.: I am also getting whistling noises coming either from the 480 or my PSU - i read around on the forum and i guess thats normal but i don't really enjoy it either way :/
