Asus Rampage III Extreme

Thread Starter
Hello

this is my first post here as just bought my first rig, and after reading a while on the net decided to assemble the whole thing myself.

My stuff is:

Asus Rampage III Extreme
Zotac GTX 580
Intel Core i7 950
Kingston Hyper X 3x2GB, 1800Mhz
Cooler Master Silent Gold Pro 800W

I assembled the computer, and everything gone well.
So whe I first booted it, the CPU q-LED keep lighted and nothing hapened.
After reading a while, I tried to clear de cosmos, and swap the memory DIMMs, after that, when I turn the power on, the CPU q-led flashes tree times, then shuts, and nothing hapen.

Worse still , when it hapend, before switing the power off, I bent my HAF tower to see if any of the other lights where on and acidentally touched the graphic card, there was a small eletric distrage, but the gpu fan keept runing.

I don't have any other hadware to test the mobo, or the other parts.

Have I fried my video card?
Any ideas on the boot problem?

If you static discharged on the MOBO you killed at least one of the two, most likely Video Card, then MOBO then both.

During winter the hot air in our homes is DRY an static build up in almost unavoidable, you always need to touch metal of your PC case or PSU before touching any computer parts. LEARN.
