On my board it locks it at a speed, like the FSB, not a ratio like the RAM. I would've raped 2 cards, since my FSB is 100 MHz above standard and PCI-E freq is locked at 100. AMD would be stupid to use a ratio, so I really doubt they did.

Nice then. My last 2 mobos didn't do that.. Idk, OP, just have in mind it's a possible issue, depending on if your mobo understands it a freq or as divider

What a theory... No, PCI freq is locked at 100... yes it is. No it is not set to auto adjust with fsb. Yes it is locked at 100.

After checking, I have no idea what you're talking 'bout. Both your current board and mobos in general lock the PCI-E frequency at a certain speed, they don't use ratios.

Have you thought about flashing your bios? I know it sounds really dumb, but I have had similar issues and after clearing the CMOS wouldn't fix it, a bios flash (even to the same bios version) did fix it.

Thread Starter
Interesting discussion so far. So since I did lock it to 100 I guess I'm back to square one for trouble shooting.

It almost seems like a bios issue and not a hardware issue. I just can't figure out what kind of bios issue it is since I have everything set back to factory default. Hmmm

Ninja, actually I was just thinking about flashing bios.

In past, not so far, i had 555BE cpu, unlocked it to quad. Shortly after that with every restart/power off it would stop posting. After powering it off completely it would say there's new cpu installed. Flashing clearing cmos and taking out mobo (to check that there's no shorting on mobo) did not return positive result.
After that i finally gave up and did hour drive to replace it. Techs said something about ram slots :/ i know, totally sounds like bs but, with new mobo unlocked cpu works just fine.

But try to flash at least

Whoa... hold your horses guys lol. Look at my sigrig, I've been using 200 BCLK for a while before setting my PCI-e Freq. to 107. Ergo I've been using Auto before that. If my mobo wouldntve locked the PCIe Freq - my Card was already supposed to die together with my HDD (I heard its related?) am I right?

Yeah.

But the HDD isn't related to the PCI-e freq.
