OCed PC wont post only when sitting off overnight?

Thread Starter
I had my PC running at 4.0 stable and had this same problem. Also had this problem at 3.8. Im trying my Asus 3.4 board built in OC (the one you pick in bios and the board does it for you) and not seeming to have the same problem.

My computer will run stable at the high settings, temps will be in range, if i start>restart it will restart just fine, but when I leave it sitting off overnight, it wont post. All the fans will turn on, the cd rom light will stay solid green and it just wont go any further, no beeps. I can try and restart it but same thing. The only thing that will fix it is to reset the bios by pulling the battery for 30 seconds. At that point it will start right back up and then I have to decide weather I want to leave it at stock speeds or OC it again.

Any ideas? Bad setting? Not enough power from the PSU?

this does that occationally too, only when removed from power (unplugged from 110)

hold reset while you hit the power button, should boot at the oc settings again

Well it never gets unplugged, just turned off. What does holding the reset while you hit power do?

If it starts up fine with the stock settings, then I don't see how it would be the motherboard.
I have had this problem once with a Biostar board. I never figured it out. But I'm keeping a eye on this thread since I'm interested in finding out.

EDIT: Except I had to mess with the power cable (reinsert it) for it to start.

yeah it seems to always work with stocks settings or very close to them. And when it is OCed it runs fine also. Its literally only a problem after I turn it off when I go to sleep then try and turn it on in the morning. I leave it on most of time so its not a big problem, but i believe it should start up whenever i need it.
