what is the proper way to clean contacts?
asus puts it as
"Clean the Golden Finger of memory
Clean the memory slots"
but no instruction on how to do so

I just used canned air or an air compressor (limiting the PSI). If you want to REALLY get into detail, use rubbing alcohol (high percentage) with Q-tips.

I use Isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip to clean the memory fingers. And if the slots are dirty just use some compressed air in a can.

alright i the alcohol and q-tips, but it is more likely if any dirty-ness at all that its the mobo, cause its open box and the dimm is brand new
