The HD 5850 is better once they are all OC'ed.

Difference in TDP's only 10 watts. I'd imagine 570's quite the fireball. As for the 470, I just replaced a 460 @ 850Mhz for a 470 @ stock speeds and watched 3D11 go from P3859 to P4378. I'd imagine the eventual OC on 470 would push it past P5000.

I'd go for the Asus GTX 460 1GB @ Newegg for $149.99 AR. Use coupon code EMCKJKF82.

The Radeon 6870 is easily the best option available. Not only does it have the best crossfire profiling of all cards listed, it is overclockable and compares to a GTX 480 in SLI.

About people claiming that the 470 GTX is better in anyway, I counter-argue with these professional reviews;

Quote:
However, even if the GTX 470 is now only slightly more expensive than the Radeon HD 6870, the AMD product still offers 3% more performance.
Site: http://www.techspot.com/review/325-a...70/page11.html

Quote:
Nevertheless, the HD 6870 1GB fits neatly into the ATI range of cards and at a starting price point of £200 and with partners preparing to sell for prices rumoured to be as low £180 it's good value too. We’d certainly plump for the HD 6870 1GB over the GTX 470 1,280MB despite the latter's slightly superior performance, thanks in majority to the HD 6870 1GB’s lower power consumption and un-intrusive non-nuclear cooler.
Site: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/gra...6870-review/11

So GTX 470 ~ Radeon 6870 in terms of performance (when single).

And for Crossfire;

Quote:
The combination of two Radeon HD 6870 cards in CrossFire cuts loose an interesting beast. Being priced at $480, it immediately feels like a big purchase. On the other hand, it offers more price/performance than the GeForce GTX 480, Radeon HD 5870 or Radeon HD 5970, the trio of single graphics cards closest to this - and is faster than all of them. Especially against the HD 5970 we see quite a performance difference.
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/A...ssFire/25.html

And so in Crossfire; 6870 Crossfire>> 470 SLI

And a good ol' statistics graph;

As you can see; the 6870 is better especially in Crossfire... My cards actually score ~30400 with a small overclock which is actually higher than a stock 480 SLI setup.

So bottom line; Even professional reviewers recommend the 6870 even for a single setup. And you should get the 6870 for a single or crossfire setup.

That's a mighty 6.66% OC on that 6870 ya got there. I bet it's almost as fast as a 460 @ 950 Mhz (42% OC) that goes for $70 less. I wonder how much louder i'd be?

Xfire scaling's pretty slick though. I'll get a chance to see a couple 6870 setups @ a LAN on Saturday. Looking forward to see how it really compares w/ a 460 or 470 when they're clocked.
