It should be faster than a stock 470.

C x Sc = F.

C = cores; Sc = Shader clock; F = floating point/s

GTX 560: 384CUDA Cores*1640Mhz = 629,000FLOPS
GTX 470: 440CUDA Cores*1200Mhz = 528,000FLOPS

These would make a nice dual-GPU card. Nvidia already has a similar setup for their workstation graphics cards that use two of these cores IINM.

Wow, these 500 series cards are coming out so quick, all you have to do is blink and miss the release of one.

On topic, the 560 looks to be a really nice card. I kind of expect Nvidia to price this at around $250...maybe on maximum $270, seeing this possibly performs "better" than a GTX 470.

Floating point isn't everything. I'd bet the cards will trade blows. Also the 470 has 448 cores, not 440.

Rumors around a few Chinese forums is that the GTX560 will be a 30% stronger performer than the GTX460.

And you bet once the 560 is released, the next on line is the mighty GTX590/595......so, do not even blink an eye (wink.gif), keep them wide open(eek.gif)
why do people think its gonna be better then 570?
makes no sense as higher the number in the series the faster the card.
GTS are the low end

60/65 were mid
70/80 - high
90 enthusiast

This coincides with exactly what I've predicted...

Its still yields more FLOPS.

That said, you'll be hard pressed to find anything that yields more FLOPS and performs worse in real world scenarios relatively. Based on the GTX 460, which is only ~10-15% slower than a GTX 470, the GTX 560 is looking to be faster by about that much.
