Nzxt Phantom or Storm Sniper Black? - Page 2

The Phantom is a steal considering all the features. I vote Phantom.

I would considering purchasing a 140mm front intake fan tho. Interestingly it doesn't come with one.

does the Phantom have dust-filters? if so, are they removable?

and btw, i really like the fact that they didn't go lazy with the white version and just left the interior unpainted- it's all white as well
all the intake fans on the phantom have filters.

sadly, he already ordered the storm sniper. and considering he would have had to add to the phantom 40$ at least for fans, it would have ended up more expensive than the ss, which only has a bottom 120mm optional (and we all have 120mm fans lying around..), the rest of the fan slots are all filled. and as much as i liked the white phantom, i don't think there's a better built case at this price range

well, sorry to bring this thread back up, but turns out his local CM supplier stopped importing the KXN model, so there's only the old KKN without the black interior. so he dropped the order, and asked me to recommend another case.

the phantom, in all its greatness, comes with 2 200mm fans short (top and side), so i asked him to find out how much will 2 200 fans cost him, and the only model available locally is an older CM 200mm fan with no LED (A20030-10CB-2MN-C1), and 2 of those will cost him 55$, which is a lot (i did manage to find him an ebay listing for the CM 200 megaflow, but for 73$ incl. shipment), which would end up with him paying 260$ overall for the phantom+fans.

i'm therefore inclined to tell him to go with another option.
so, is there another case you guys would recommend for him? anything as similar as possible to the SS (i.e. all about the cooling- fan control, filters+good looks w/ the interior black finish)?
i've been looking at the antec 1200 and DF85 which are available to him, but they have no fan control.

yeah, my bad.

well, he just told me he's considering just splurging and going for the HAF X. is there anything that comes even close to matching the X?? as far as i know it's by far the best enthusiast case around (with maybe the exception of the 800D, and excluding higher-end aluminum only cases).

Anyway, of course Europe and Israel have insane prices. Euro is stronger than the dollar. You know the price here of a 580? 600$

Normal 200mm fans don't work, don't let him waste money
Only NZXT ones will work. Its some sort of proprietary diameter. But there are some people that asked the company for fans and got them free, so I dunno.

The Phantom has fan control, filters on all intake fans (except 140mm) and all that stuff

in israel it's not priced at euros, it's priced at ILS, and from what he told me the customs taxes for electronics can push 100% in some cases
