Those fan headers on the board look to be proprietary like Dell's.

On the Dell plugs, one side has a clip lock like this:

185041d1292489235-how-make-proprietary-dell-server-fans-dell-fan-clip.jpg

On the other side they have the 2 alignment tabs. like this:

185048d1292492135-how-make-proprietary-dell-server-fans-rewired-dell-plug.jpg

And notice there is one spot with no pin on the header, and the connector on the Dell plug is missing a wire in that same spot.

Definitely check for the pinouts on the headers.

If it matters, this is the wiring from the fan:

Ok, well first you need to find the pinout of the fan header that's on that board. Because if you plug that fan in, the way it is, nothing will happen.

Here are the pinout's of standard PWM fans:

185050d1292492190-how-make-proprietary-dell-server-fans-standard-pwm-fan-pinouts.jpg

Then you'll have to rearrange the wiring, within the connector itself, to make it work.

EDIT: When taking close-up pics, use the Macro setting on your camera.
The icon looks like this Macro-icon.jpg

That's the standard pinout for motherboards.
185050d1292492190-how-make-proprietary-dell-server-fans-standard-pwm-fan-pinouts.jpg

And then according to the page you've linked, for AMD's the #2 pin will be red instead of yellow, and the #3 pin will be yellow instead of green.

From my other thread, here's how the pinouts go for Dell's.

185049d1292492190-how-make-proprietary-dell-server-fans-dell-pinouts.jpg

So you have to assume that since the HP header is proprietary, that it most likely has a different pin configuration than standard, and very likely, different from Dell's as well.
Perhaps you could contact HP's tech support and see if they can send you a pinout for your particular board/computer.
