hi it's me again

well, a friend offered me to trade my toughpower 850+ a few bucks for his galaxy dxx1000w and I was wondering if this psu would have enough juice for running the two 580s in sli I mentioned in past threads

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience guys

If I remember correctly, a 850 watt PSU is more then enough to run any SLI setup you can think of at the moment. I know that a 470 with an i7 at 4ghz only pulls about 400watts at most. Most people don't realize that computers don't pull at much power as a lot of people say. You shouldn't need a 1000Watt PSU unless you are running quad fire or tri-SLI.

Keep your 850w, its more than enough to power 2x580s. As I recall a toughpower also has better efficiency and ripple suppression.

i've watched an i7 and 3 580's pull 1400 watts, are you sure 850 will do? lol.

yeah, I really dunno what to do, because I could not be cheap and spend 90 more on a sr2 1200w (they're at like 340 here in uruguay ), but well I accept suggestions as I said guys

also, I think that my toughpower pulls only 64A (like 745w) out of 850 in the 12v line, I dunno if it's that good on the ripple part

I highly doubt that. Got a source?

I could see that setup pulling close to 900-1000W at full load but that's about it.
