Yes its properly seated, simply because there is no waterflow over the VRM area, there is such temperature spike.
Ive even put small heatsinks on top of where the metal piece meets the VRMs, took off 5-8C, but not enough.

Spend an extra and get the EK block.
No, it's not properly seated, or the thermal pad was in the wrong place or something. I've never seen my VRMs on either of my 6950s, both of which have XSPC Razor 6970 blocks, ever get much hotter than the GPU core at stock voltage (never above 41c during benching, where as during that benchmark my GPU was at 38c, and VRam were at 37.5, 40.5, and 51.5). So sometimes it can be a few degrees higher than GPU core, but not like you're seeing in that log.

I can post GPU-Z logs if desired, but why would I make that up.

It's a shame to see how much influence one post holds over people...

Here's a screenshot of both GPUs after running Kombuster at extreme settings with 2x6950s with XSPC Razor 6970 blocks, in-line with a 2600K @ 4.3ghz, all on a HW labs GTX360 radiator with the fans on low (so it really isn't doing very much cooling at all), and the room temp is pretty cold right now so about 21-22c.

Wonder what would happen if you upped voltage up to 1.26?

Or better yet, the original poster should drop voltage to 1.1 and test to see if temps are in line with gumby's.

Replicate my voltage, clocks and run furmark extreme burning mode while running for about 20 minutes.
Well see the influence then. 1.1V? Sir, is this some kind of joke? Also, your GPU 3 temperature is off, obviously YOUR block is not seated right as i never get up that high even though i hold much beefier OC and voltage than you.

I will try the tests again, however I don't think the GPU3 temp is off, as it was 10c hotter regardless of the cooling solution I used. I've kept logs of temperatures since I first got my 6950, and GPU3 has always been 10c hotter than GPU1, and 5c hotter than GPU2 (they're all VRAM temps, not actual GPU temps, to my knowledge)
they are all gpu temps on different parts of the die.

gpu3 is usually the memory controller and gpu2 is the shaders.

Well, I retract my statement. I'm too noobish to get voltage modification in AB working. I tried about 5 different methods I found on different forums to enable it, and it hasn't worked, and since my computer is running stable and I'm easily able to push well over 6950 and even over 6970 clocks without having to mess with voltage, then I'm very satisfied. Sorry for not being able to put up, so now I will shut up.

Its cool, but i think that block needs to be reseated, i really push my GPU to 100% all day and i never see GPU 3 temp higher than 44C.
You might have it not getting full contact.

Can you drop your voltage down to 1.1 and stock settings and test the temps?

If it stays up in the 70s or 40s will help us.

I'm about to buy a waterblock in a couple weeks.

Same everything as him, furmark, 5 mins, extreme burning mode no MSAA.
