Still, the game refuses to make use of crossfire. Crossfire works fine in games like Crysis 2, but Battlefield 3 will not work. I also get the freezing problem on booting the game some times. A crash. 11.9 works without crashes for the most part but will not utilize the crossfire. Anything else I should try?
I didn't hear you mention using driversweeper... I'd definitely uninstall everything and then reboot, then driver sweeper, then reboot and run a clean install. Hopefully that makes a difference, and I wish you the best of luck!

Well, I did use driversweeper. Then I heard that it isn't as good as the Atiman uninstaller tool. So I used that instead.

Where do they get off calling a 6870 a 6990m? Why not just call it a 6870? It's not dual, is it?

I think the idea is that it's the most powerful laptop card that AMD makes, my guess is that the nomenclature has more to do with the market segment that the card occupies than the actual hardware inside. It's only a single GPU per card, and I've got crossfire. The chips themselves are blackbombs, so basically dual desktop 6870s, but for a lappy this is the best that can be had.

Count me in too if your still doing it.

VTX3D 6950 - Not unlocked - Stable 970/1363

Binned 6970 i guess, it wouldn't get 5 Mhz past 1375 before losing performance. Done well on the core clock though, didn't get any crashes well past 970 but my minimum fps was falling very slightly. ( Guess that's instability maybe? )
