You can't flash both bios'es. If one is 6970 then the other is locked @ stock. And ubergeek is absolutely right. Quit changing so many variables.

Assume it's locked, and DON'T try to flash it (mine actually is locked, as I got sloppy and proved it). Just in case it's not locked (which it is), you WANT to have a bios you haven't messed with - that way at the end of the day, you still have a working card.

Now that's a guy who should maybe think about not playing around with the hardware in his computer.

I think OverClocker55 should just stop while he's ahead and his card isn't bricked. The instructions for doing a 6950 to 6970 flash are really simple. At this stage I would recommend he just leaves it alone. He's already used half the life of the flash BIOS.

If you enable the extra shaders and the card starts glitching it's likely some of those shaders are bad. Tough luck, but that's the way it goes.

When I did my 6950 I followed these directions:

I also got the Sapphire HD6970 BIOS from the same site. It worked first time, and I have not had to touch it since. Follow the instructions in the order given and it should just work. If you've got some crappy shaders you're just going to have to disable them.

Yes. You can switch between bioses all you want and no damage just don't flash. Glad you got it working. Could you post a screenshot of gpu-z and 1 of afterburner? Thanks.
