Let me also say that the performance is really impressive. At 2500x1600, 16x AF, and 2x AA, my pair of heavily OC'd and overvolted GTX 470s (840/1950) pulled 45 FPS in Heaven 2.0. These cards, with their new drivers and untapped OCing potential, pulled 60 FPS with unlocked shaders and the current max allowable OC with 6950-based BIOS (840/1325).

That's a 33% improvement right there.

Of course, what driver installation wouldn't be complete without BSOD followed by black screen after bootup...this is what happened to me when I first installed the AMD drivers. But I think it was because my 2500x1600 monitor was plugged into the single-link DVI (cheap of AMD not to provide two dual-DVI ports). Once I switched the plug, the monitor came back on and I could install drivers without issue.

Finally my PSU arrived to power these cards.

I cannot do much with the 6950/6970 flashed card because I cant apply fan settings, well sometimes they work but will go back to normal after a few seconds.
The clocks I can change and they stay changed but without manual fan control its not going to be much use.
Any ideas?

Obviously you don't have a pair in CROSSFIRE otherwise you'd know the top one runs a significantly hotter. And fyi if you bothered to read the thread I'd already posted regarding temps and the fact that that was with 45% profiles. And for the record it doesn't matter, 45% or 100%, given enough time top the card goes to melt down mode in CF.

Thus isn't about people who contribute, or post proof in the thread, just whether they follow your "rules" correct?

I've run Crossfire before (5850) and SLI on GTX280s (you wanna talk about hot?). 45%? What a joke, I'm surprised you expected that low of a fan speed to help at all.

Every "Owners Club" thread has a submission procedure, and this is what I have determined to be the easiest since I don't have all day to sit and F5 the thread waiting for a picture. The "rules" for submission are pretty lax compared to most other clubs, but if you have a suggestion on a way to improve the procedure, I'm all ears.

What is the purpose of joining a club on OCN? I have seen several on this forum but no such clubs on other forums.

There's not a specific purpose, per se, but people enjoy them. It's more about just having a dedicated thread to talk about 'n' hardware.

Running my 6950 flashed at 970/1500 fully stable right now, tried 1ghz but it crashed... Now it makes me sad playing BC2 maxed and only having 38% load on the card due to a giant bottleneck from my E6600

I've been getting some really bad flicker with my 6970, particularly in Super Meat Boy and Psychonauts, which I've been playing again recently. Sometimes in psychonauts, the textures completely disappear, and I have to minimize and maximize the game to get it to go back. I'm running stock with 45% fan speed, and the latest drivers. Is there something wrong with my card, or is this just a driver thing?

I bought a Dimond 6970 and it was fast. I pretty much play only play WoW. I was getting a textures coming though while playing. In I would see flashes on the screen. I called Dimond company support and they said it was my power suply. they said my 700w was not strong enough to power the card. It only happened during WoW, and not other games. I took the card back and got a Nvidia 570 plus about $50 back. Its not as fast as the 6970. I was getting 33.1 fps on Unigen Heaven 1080 all setting maxed. The 570 get 29.7 at the same settings on my machine.

Unlocked an XFX 6950 and OCed to 950/1450, seemed to be pretty stable but did have a couple of issues in the Mafia 2 benchmark with pretty bad fps drops so I put it down to 910/1425 and it seems to be running fine. Only thing is that when I start up windows the resolution is reset and I have to end the CCC and restart it again for it to work.
