I looked through about 20 pages and didn't find any, does Cayman have the same temp sensors as Cypress?

If it does, how are the core/shader/mem io temps, are they within a few ° of each other?
What about the vregs, how hot do they get?

It seems these chips aren't that overclocker friendly. I guess we will see more improvement in the overclocking department with 28nm.

Anyone know where I can find 1:1 aspect ratio options in control panel? I thought I saw it once but now it's gone. It's not under Desktop Properties for any of my monitors. Can't imagine it has anything to do with enabling CF.

Has anyone here been using HDMI and had the underscan issue with Crysis? If so, any known fixes?

In CCC there's a scaling option tab where u can adjust the underscan and overscan. I was playing Crysis in eyefinity mode and one of my monitor is connected using HDMI but I didn't notice any over/underscan issues.

The MSI beta still seems to be useless for Crossfire users.

Sapphire 6950 Crossfire w/ shader-unlocked ONLY BIOS flash

When I enabled unofficial overclocking in either Afterburner or Trixx while using CF mode, they would both cause immediate BSOD if I moved even 1 mhz above CCC. That seemed to be the norm for other users too.

Unfortunately, latest MSI beta has not changed that reality. It happens even when I overclock just to 840 (the CCC max) and adjusting the voltage causes driver crash and/or graphics corruption or BSOD.

Note that everything is perfectly stable using official overclocking for more than 2 weeks, up to and including 840 mhz. Obviously this is not a cooling or power issue, since overclocking or overvolting by 1 mhz above CCC limits should not cause BSOD.

Also to note, I am water cooling so my max GPU temps have been 40C.

What could I be doing wrong? I assume it makes sense to have Powertune at 20%? I disabled CF and then overvolted/overclocked and things were fine, but that doesn't stick once I reenable CF.

e: BSOD seems to be specifically triggered by applying the OC/voltage settings to the second card. Also, the GPU1 and GPU2 are still listed incorrectly in Afterburner; they are switched around.

e2: I can also say that this must be some sort of software issue. If I leave unofficial overclocking DISABLED, I can independently OC my 2nd video card to 840 mhz. But if I make it ENABLED, I get immediate BSOD when I attempt that same OC on the 2nd card (which, again, is listed wrongly as GPU1).

start reading here http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=336682

Problem 1 - Disable ULPS (Enable ULPS = 0) search it.... its here and thread
Problem 2 - Powertune is a no go compatibility wise with AB (in the thread)
Problem 3 - U prob have to add voltage setting manually to ur config (page 2 of thread) due to flashed bios....

Sorry but I had to read through all the posted and got mine up and running fine on CF.... it is a pain but if you wanna OC you gotta do it but hey.... you saved about $140 right?

I read that thread.

Problem 2 - The Powertune advice makes little sense, since if you turn that to 0%, then what is the point of overclocking anything when you are going to run into the TDP limit?

Problem 3 - My card is flashed not to 6970 BIOS, only to shader unlock. Therefore that should be irrelevant, and indeed it is since the thing works fine in single-GPU mode.

Problem 1 - This sort of helps, but it's far from a perfect solution. First of all, the drivers crash and the screen flashes when I set the OC, and then "recovers" after 10 seconds. Second, the cards never downclock again until you reboot. And third, the overvolt secconds only apply to the second GPU.

Bottom line, the utility is currently worthless in CF mode. I bet Unwinder has no access to a CF system. Even the GPU numbers are misidentified and switched around.

According to Arctic Cooling, your out of luck if you want the Accelero Xtreme Plus on the 6970. They sent me an email saying that it's not compatible with the AXP. What the heck, really!?
A German PC website was able to mount the AXP on a 6970, but they used Scythe Setsugen 2 RAM sinks instead. hmmmm......
Here is the link: Accelero Xtreme Plus on 6970
