RE: The leaked 6990 specs'

Will it be using 2x6970 gpus?

Is that 3840 stream processors?

2x 6970 would be 3072 processors.

Unless the 6970 actually has 384 unused sharers under the bonnet to unlock.

If so, this could this out bench any new nvidia dual.

Doubt it, since the 6970 cant be unlocked into anything, maybe this is what they initially had planned like with the 1920 shader 6970 but it didn't go that way.

Hi guys, I'm planing on getting the 6950. But I'm worried if I won't see changes. You can already see my setup below. And I'll also be buying a 650W power supply that is true rated since the power supply have been used for a long time. I just want to play safe. I hope some one can help me out. I appreciate it.

Stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyways:

I'm fairly certain this issue is due to a bad and/or under-powered PSU:

my 6950 is currently flashed and OC'd. MSI Kombustor Stability test runs good 10minutes in, but further into the 20, to 30min mark the PC will suddenly power-off. The same has happened while gaming for 30min+ in various games.

Now either it's some strange wacky issue w/ the card, which i doubt, or the PSU is being stressed, over-heating, and shutting itself down.

Note: I can boot the PC back up with no issue after the random shut-down.

You should up your ram to at least 4gb. 650W PSU should be a good call (i just ordered one myself). going from an 8600GT you will definitely notice a massive performance increase. I upgraded from a GTS 250 and I notice at least double the performance.
