Yes - to the bit bucket, or the null device.
The title could have been chopped after the second word...

Besides, this isn't news, since Apple refuses to support standard, popular formats - even if the formats are kind of trashy or are performance robbing.

Of course, this is not an excuse for shoddy websites that have poor deployment, or rely on oddities of the bugs of specific browsers.

We're already seeing this effect with consoles, where games are still being made for DX9 because developers are too lazy to recreate their games for the PC.
Nice one.

I agree with this.

The web is the software, running on the internet hardware, to which ALL devices/OS's/software should support and adhere to w3c standards (that'll be the day!).

3G speeds are horrible, it's one of the reasons sites have mobile versions. The cell companies tout "OMG fastest network evar!" but in reality its SLOW SLOW SLOW compared to a Wifi connection. Networks are what is holding these devices back.

The iPad is a unique device, but it should not ideally be considered a replacement for a computer by any means. It is so limited in its features, not to mention the price point it is at. There are better options.

I like how the Apple requires a PC to charge iPads even though they advertise it like it's a replacement.

Lol, so true. the iPad truly fails in those aspects. The best option is a netbook probably.
