Most PC's may not charge the iPad through USB because they generally don't provide enough power. And if they do, it takes a lot longer to charge.

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4060

And every iPad comes with a wall charger, so a PC or Mac is not required for charging purposes.

The iPad is a mobile device not a "real" computer. Mobile devices will always require some degree of compromise. Developers clearly realize that mobile devices do not run many websites as well as full powered computers. Out of the three example sites in the PCWorld article (ebay, Twitter, and Expedia), I know for a fact that 2 have Android apps (ebay and Twitter) and I would assume that those apps also exist for the iPad/phone/pod.

In creating these apps, developers have already addressed the issue of poor performance on the full website on mobile devices while making sure that they do not need to compromise for people using "real" computers.

The same is true of people talking about having problems with this site. I use Tapatalk on my Samsung Mesmerize (Galaxy S) to access this site and it works great.

Would it be more convenient if we could access all of these sites without having to switch apps on our mobile devices? Yes, but the convenience of carrying a phone that fits in my pocket instead of a full computer is much more significant, and I don't think that I am alone in this opinion.

In short the article is complaining about a problem that has already been addressed.

It's no surprise that these types of people are Apple customers. They are both alike; delusional and completely unreasonable. I've not seen one browser display or render everything 100% correctly. If all tech was absolute and purely a service, there would be no innovation and movement.
They infuriate me worse than anyone as (most) have little will to learn anything.
