The title says it all my e8400 processor on my 750i asus motherboard keeps changing from 3.0ghz (mulitiplyer x9) to 2.0ghz (multiplyer x6) randomly every few seconds. I only just noticed this now and its annoying, could anyone give me an idea on what to do? Now i'm noticing that it just stays at 2.0ghz now this is weird....

It's Intel's Speed step. Go into your Bios and diasble EIST. I think it's EIST anyways. And also anything that mentions Speed stepping.

edit:^ That's what it is c1e
