Anyone have there Computer hooked up to a 32"(or bigger) TV? - Page 3

Sig rig is hooked to 32" LCD running 720p resolution over HDMI.

Using Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse.

Win7, ClearType Text ON, Custom DPI set to 120%.

Catalyst Control Center lets me scale the image to fill the screen completely. I believe Nvidia has similar options.

No eye-strain after setting the custom DPI in Control Panel and adjusting ClearType Text settings. Posting this from the comfort of my living room couch

Text is awful on a large TV on a computer and if you blow everything up just to read text it really defeats the purpose of a high res display (in my opinion). My HTPC was on a 47" 1080P LCD and if I used it for anything other than movies it was an eye strain.

IMO 32" 1080p TV is more than enough one should get for PC.

i DON'T recommend using a TV for computer use.

I bought a 42'' TV last year for this use, and man do i regret it. Playing games from far with a mouse/keyboard is awkward on a couch, playing with a controller gets you owned, and putting it on your desk makes the resolution look like ****.

Monitors will always look better for one reason. Pixel Density. 2 Million pixels (1080p) will always look better on a smaller screen than a larger screen.

Learn from my (very expensive) mistake. DON'T BUY A TV FOR COMPUTER USE
I use a 50inch plasma for my computer screen primarily for gaming. No regrets at all! It's amazing and my eyes don't feel strained compared to a small monitor I used to have. But everyone is different. I talked to a bunch of eye doctors before I made my decision and the conclusion came to the fact that if your eyes feel less strained then that's the way to go from 24inch to 64 inch. So do what you feel comfortable with.

I sit about 4' away from a 40" lcd tv. It's not that bad, but I'd rather have a higher resolution 27 or 30" display or displays.

Buy a larger TV and sit further back. Can't imagine sitting 2 feet away from a 37"+ TV. I used to sit that far from a 32" 1080p and it doesn't look all that great up close and you can see the pixel too easily.

If you want to sit close get a monitor 24" or larger, further away on a couch or something a size proportionate to the distance will work. My opinion anyway.
