having troble getting 200blck i7-950

hi im having troble getting 200blk
MY PC IS Rock solid stable at
174x23 = 4000mhz
3400mhz uncore
7.4ghz qpi
1.28vcore
1.31qpi/vtt
1.65 ram
everlthing else is stock

and i can run 190x21 = 4000mhz
but i have to up my CPU PLL to 1.88 and the QPI PLL at 1.26
i tried juicein ip all the volts and still no go. i even went to 1.45 qpi and it didnt liek it.
shoudl i give it more qpi pll or give it some IOH or ICH core?

the motherboard im ussing is x58a-ud3r rev1

but i cannot run it at 200 blck. i want to be able to do 200x20=4000
and i need the uncore up to 3800 or 4000 so my ram can run up to 1900-2000, any suggestions? any help is much appreciated

If I am seeing this right you are seeing the issue of 200x20? If so it is not 200mhz base clock but the 20x multiplier. Even multipliers don't work very well on i7's. Try 21x200mhz and I bet it will work fine.

You will need to increase the qpi/vtt voltage in order to increase the ram speed that high. Hitting 2000mhz on the ram will take a very strong IMC and alot of qpi/vtt.

Honestly jump your multiplier up to 21x200 and you will see more of a performance increase than getting the ram up to 2000mhz (but maybe you can have both)

you need to lower that ram frequency use a 6x ram multiplier and then take it up later as needed, that is your problem. instead of uncore 2x ram, do it 2x+1 ram.

Take PCI-E frequency to 101 for 200+blck.

yeah like the guy above said many people cannot hit 2000mhz ram speed, its b/c the CPU cannot do it. you need to use lower RAM speed, and if you want 2000mhz ram use 1.5v qpi/vtt.

Also do this, hold down CRTL+F1 in BIOS main screen, screen flashes, then go into MIT then go into advanced frequency control and disable spread spectrum.

well i hit 200 blck and im now at 4.2 ghz.. but the only thing is.. i was stable at 4.0 ghz with 1.28 vcore now i need 1.38vcore for 4.2.. o well. temps are mid 70's idle at 37 i did try the uncore at 4000 and the mem at 2000 with vtt of 1.45-1.6 and could get into to windows but as soon as i ran prime or linx it BSD 124... would there be another voltage to get the uncore and ram running up there? qpipll? cpupll? ich or ioh? thanks..
BTW i also put the ram at 1600mhz with uncore at 3200 and it was fine, my i put my ram timing down to 7,7,7,20 also.

AND!!!! i tried the new f7g bios from the x58a-ud3r rev 1 motherboard and it seems to run more stable then the f6 bios. even tho its beta. thank yo

BSD 124 explicitely means too much or too little qpi/vtt. If you tried 1.40v and got it and then jumped all the way to 1.60v, then that could be the issue that you overjumped it. If you went in steps of 1 or 2 all the way up, then you need to go higher but honestly you are getting into more of unsafe area. Alot of people have run it at 1.50v and been fine, but realize that there is no guarantee's. 2000mhz ram is very questionable.

The difference in qpi/vtt for me to run at 1700mhz vs. 1800mhz is 1.20625v vs. 1.40625v and that's not even 2000mhz.

Aye, this is an unfortunate side-effect once you pass the 4.0GHz barrier. The amount of voltage required starts go rise quickly.

1.38V isn't bad at all for that clock, and those temps are excellent. I would say that you have a great chip there.

what does that do?

anyway im rock solid stable passed over 100 passes of linx, at 1.4 vcore bios (1.37) cpuz with blck at 200 pci-e 100 1.33 vtt 1.6 cpupll

i tried running the ram at 2000 with 4000 uncore. first i tried 1.45 qpi/vtt. wouldn't load windows, tried up to 1.57 i could get into windows load up hwmoniter and linx. and it seemed stable at 1.57 qpi/vtt.

My question is . having almost 1.6 qpi should i consider purchasing a ud7 with a water pump i mean my temps arrant really that bad even with the 1.45 intel qpivtt spec. the north bridge gets to 60c max at 4000 uncore and 2000 ram.

Is there any voltage IE, IOH or QPI PLL I can you to stabilize with lower qpi volt?
