hi guys
recently bought my new gtx 460
at first i played crysis warhead and cod black ops and except for cod i did not notice any stuttering but lately im getting stuttering in almost all the games i am playing in some games its negligible but in others its quite noticiable
is any body else haveng the same issues im using 260 whql nvidia drivers....
and somewhere i saw microstutter program which calculates microstutter index through fraps....ichecked all my games with it
and i noticed if the index goes over 8-9 the stuttering becomes quite noticiable and crysis warhead is giveng 8-9 index on all very high settings(no aa) and it gives 11 when i turn on the aa.......has any one have these problems im really frustrated
any help would be appreciated.....

unfortunately thats just the nvidia gtx 460, i think its probably because the drivers are still newish for fermi's but they all do it, my one does odd things as well, like when loading new grids in new vegas i get a mini pause and noticeable fps drop, nothing i do can change it, im certain its the drivers. im crossing my fingers that they will release new drivers very soon, i read somewhere it should be next week, and hopefully that will fix some issues!

Im in the same boat, my card really seams to lack performance in games my 8800gtx had no problems running. I can only chalk it up to drivers sucking at this point.

I didn't think that the 460 was capable of playing warhead on higher settings.

Even without AA you can experience stuttering. I'm not saying play it on lowest settings, but you're going to have to play around and tweak some of the settings to get it smooth.

I would at least try this, especially with a few higher-end games. Turn settings to medium/high and check the micro-stutter again.

You can also try uninstalling drivers/running driver cleaner/reinstalling. Probably won't do much, but it could be worth a shot.

No offense, but a GTX460 will not be able to play *all* games at very high graphics settings with a smooth framerate (Crysis comes to mind).

There are a lot of games that will just stutter at certain points anyway, even if you are getting fair framerates. CoD: BO and Crysis are two. I'm not trying to say you don't have a problem, but no game is perfect.

to all u telling me to lower settings i want to clarify that i game at 1280x1024 max so i dont think there is any game aprt from metro which a gtx 460 cant handle on this res with all settings high.....
and ya i have tried lowering the settings but did not improve the situation much.....
If not being able to play a game on the highest settings takes away your desire to play the game at all, then it really must be a ****ty game in the first place. Whats the point in playing it. I can't run Metro 2033 on very high but I just dropped my settings down a little and played the **** out of it and loved every minute!
