I liked 10.11 at first too, but then all of a sudden my driver would crash while idle in the browser. I ignored it (could've been my CPU complaining), but a while later I was messing with my 5850's BIOS and EVERY SINGLE TIME I installed the new BIOS I had made, the card crashed. No exception. It crashed 3 times in a row (1 unsuccessful flash, 1 successful flash to my custom BIOS and 1 successful flash back to my old BIOS). There's no doubt it was the graphics card. Went back to 10.4 and I'm not having problems anymore. I think...

10.12 actually fixed some issues for me i was playing SW force unleashed 2 and I had to have Catalyst A.I. disabled for it not to stutter MAGNIFICENTLY. after 10.12 it's fine now. Also had a stutter issue with World In Conflict mass effect 2 had the illusive man smoking out of his chin with 10.10 and with 10.12 he finally smokes out of his mouth haha. better than the CONSTANT stutter i get with my GTX260's SLI'd on my backup rig....that machine can't even use Source Engine without shuttering.

Stay with 10.10e. They along with, 10.4, 10.5 and 10.8b are the fastest drivers. 7-8 point decrease in benchmarks with 10.11 and 10.12. (including 10.12a) All the same low performance score because they're the same driver.

Ok, I know that there were some drops with the newer drivers, but they're still pretty close.

Because when you research what GC you're going to get, you order it and get excited, and then install it, you hope to be playing games with good performance. If instead you get nothing but hassle, you're going to a) post for help and b) ***** about it. If your drivers work, why post, your busy playing.

After comparing
http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/36...sis/index.html
and
http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/37...sis/index.html

It seems I have to get 10.12. All the perf drops from 10.10 to 10.11 have been fixed and in some games they've even increased FPS compared to 10.10. Will be trying 10.12 tomorrow.

People only post to complaing. How often do you get someone making a thread saying "MY DRIVERS ARE FINE!" Right, never, because it is "spam". However people will make a thread in a heartbeat complaining about their problems. This isn't including trolls, who don't have any problems except they are not loved by anyone.

Yep, pretty much.

Yoko: After several months of a rather frequent flicker any time the card was at 2d clocks, then some shaky releases that led to infrequent grey-SODs, the miracle 10.4 came. Yes, it was good. I'm still using it for my AMD card. But there are still some issues like missing or blinking textures..

I got sidetracked. After that there was hope; they were doing something right. But every driver I tested past 10.4 kept breaking new things. V-sync wouldn't work, or the card wouldn't downclock to 157/300, horrid minimum FPS, or I had clear wonder-woman textures in every game, it was always something.

If you had an experience like this one, and it was all driver-related, wouldn't you voice your displeasure? Then, imagine you buy a 460, and you're introduced to smooth, problem free gaming for the first time ever.

See where I'm coming from?

EDIT: Obviously, this isn't everyone's experience. Some may even have the exact opposite experience.
