Yep, pretty much.
Yoko: After several months of a rather frequent flicker any time the card was at 2d clocks, then some shaky releases that led to infrequent grey-SODs, the miracle 10.4 came. Yes, it was good. I'm still using it for my AMD card. But there are still some issues like missing or blinking textures..
I got sidetracked. After that there was hope; they were doing something right. But every driver I tested past 10.4 kept breaking new things. V-sync wouldn't work, or the card wouldn't downclock to 157/300, horrid minimum FPS, or I had clear wonder-woman textures in every game, it was always something.
If you had an experience like this one, and it was all driver-related, wouldn't you voice your displeasure? Then, imagine you buy a 460, and you're introduced to smooth, problem free gaming for the first time ever.
See where I'm coming from?
EDIT: Obviously, this isn't everyone's experience. Some may even have the exact opposite experience.Edited by pursuinginsanity - 12/18/10 at 6:46pm
