Bfbc2 updater will not work ****problem solved****

Starting to lose patience, Reinstalled 3 times now all using my mind numbingly slow external optical drive.

Click bfbc2, no updater, launches to bfbc2, cant connect to EA Online.

Updater doesn't pop up even with bfbc2update.exe.

Any ideas on what the hell to do?

EDIT: Problem solved, see here-

Hi there

I experience the same issue! I was already logging with Wireshark what's going on.. i see that my PC sends packets in direction EA but does not get any answer! I even see on my external Firewall, that the packets really pass out in direction Internet (TCP States destination EA)

I was performing a fresh setup with Window7 Ultimate x64 with my PC and reinstalled BFBC2 - but for me the Updater does not show up too, and i cannot login in the Game Menu.

I was already considering if i messed something up with the Windows Services - but i don't think so...

Please let me know when you find something, i will try to find out something too - as soon i find time again

Hi,

Did you install the game using the ea downloader? If yes you tried to update the game when it finished downloading and installing the game?

If that is also yes then the game is already updated!

Boot the game and you will see that its already on the latest version!

I reinstalled the game 20 minutes ago and i also couldnt updated so i launched the game and it was already updated.

None of this is right, unfortunately.
-Installed via disk
-Updater still doesn't show on fresh install
-Can't connect to EA Online

Thanks for the hint with the TCP Adapter Settings! Indeed, i made a tweak with TCP Optimizer from speedguide.net... now i restored the Backup i made from the original settings! It's stunning, it works now.. Updater does download the new patch

I wonder what will happen, when i reapply the TCP Optimizer Tweak again
