I dont know what's wrong i recently installed a new mobo and processor. Just got my 2nd monitor and 2nd gfx card yesterday and im just having the worst problems. All of my games are crashing after about 15min of playing. I cannot DL most game updates (especially SC2 which crashes when i try to install). I really need some help i just dont know whats wrong ive already done a full clean install and updated all of my drivers (yet i cannot get Microsoft C++ 2005 to DL).

Here are my specs:
AMD Athlon II X4 3.1ghz
Asus M4A88TD-V EVO Mobo
2 HD 5770 in crossfire
10gb ddr3 ram
1TB HDD

Any help will be greatly appreciated i am in need of dire assistance! I finally got crossfire going and i want to play my games .

Is there a PC diagnostic tool i could maybe DL and see whats up?

10GB!? In what combination is that!? 2x4GB + 1x2GB!? Unmatched RAM can cause problems with stability. That and no dual channel (2 matched RAM kits in correct slots) will cause a large loss of performance.

no its 3 2gb sticks + 1 4gb stick and its the same exact kind as the other memory.....

Well, for one as I said mixing and matching memory is not a good idea as it can result in instability. Same rated settings (i.e. 1333 9-9-9 1.5V) doesn't mean same chips and compatibility. Second of all, you shouldn't be running this setup because it is not dual channel and you are actually losing a lot of performance. Assuming the 4GB stick is different, that is the one I would remove, however I would also suggest you remove one of the 2GB sticks to run in proper dual channel. I'd hate to make you half your memory from 10GB to 4GB, but think of if you really need more than 4GB; if you just game, you really don't. It may be the best choice for stability and performance.

But i do use the ram i wouldnt have gotten 10gbs 8 would have been fine but i went for 10 (Work from home). Anyways it updates i cannot install windows updates theres one thats not letting me install so i followed the instructions and cleaned my .net framework then reinstalled up to 1.1SP1 then i try to install 3.5 and i get and error saying to turn programs on or off in windows.

Now i have no idea why my games are crashing but after the mobo and processor was installed by a professional and not me (before the 2nd gfx card and 4gb ram) and my games were crashing then too. Could this be a software issue? I mean im running all the games perfectly but they just wind up crashing.

There has to be something i can do this is highly important.

Simple Fix. Get a proper dual channel RAM setup. 8GB(4 x 2GB sticks) is fine for everything short of heavy video processing. You will have to buy more RAM, but you will get stability.

Did you replace the mobo/cpu without reinstalling windows? Because that can cause major issues as well.

EDIT: Its normally/always a good idea to reinstall windows when you get a new motherboard.
And there is a possibility that the second card is bad or its a video driver isue.
Whoever you hired is NOT a professional because they LET you do something like unmatched ram sets. Letting a customer do something like that when all it does is cause problems and hurt performance is not professional. Its irresponsible and its a sleazy way to get return business.
Get a competent person to work on your computer.

No once i replaced new mobo and processor i did a full clean install. Dont have room for (4 x 2GB sticks) hence why i bought one 4gb stick.

Oh this is also BRAND NEW ram all of it....i got it when i got the new mobo.

This. I HIGHLY recommend NOT mixing RAM. I do find it off you went for a weirdo combination of 10GB for dual-channel system. As stated I would try and pick up a 8GB(2x4GB) kit and give it a whirl.

You reinstalled Windows after the new mobo, right? Because while it will sometimes work when you do this it is much better to reinstall. That may get rid of your issues.
Also, I've seen a LOT of strange ram configs in my life, if the board/cpu support it, it should work fine. I wouldn't focus on your ram.
