6970 Game Benchmarks, with OC! - Page 5

I'll be posting a GTX470 vs GTX570 review soon, you can glean some comparative performance from my figures. I only tested at 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 though. I'm interested to see how they stack up Perhaps I'll pick one up for benchmarking at some point

Here is my Stalker Benchmarks both stock and overclocked. Not tested maxclock on my Gigabyte GTX 570 yet. CPU is a Q9650 overclocked to 3.825GHz. Looks like the GTX 570 scales well with the added clocks. Used the same settings as Threadstarter in the Stalker Benchmark.

OS is Win7 Ultimate 64Bit. nVidia drivers is 263.09 WHQL

Edit: Looks like my default scores was a tad slower than sub50hz's HD6970 default scores.. But as soon as i overclocked my GTX 570 to 920/1840/4400 Core/Shader/Mem it was a tad faster than sub50hz's highest overclocked results.. This is most likely contributed to the fact that my GTX 570 was clocked higher up from default speed, in percentage than sub50hz's HD6970 was.

This is an interesting comparison. Also because sub50hz is running a Phenom II system at 3.9GHz+.. I would think this CPU compares pretty close to my Q9650 at 3.83GHz.

Will most likely bring up some Metro 2003 results here also. Should be an interesting comparison to sub50hz's results.

No, but I did get full screen corrution a couple of times in games at 1580MHz vRAM. I'm no expert, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that it's less an issue with the actual memory chips themselves than it is something to do with maxing out the memory controller's capacity. I mean, think about it -- nearly 1600MHz QDR is pretty ridiculous.

In addition to the full-screen corruption of various colors (once blue, once GSOD), I got screen wrap'd while playing New Vegas at 980/1575. It's hilarious to reproduce all these "problems" people have with "ATI drivers" by simply running an unstable OC.

It's been discussed, but SmartDoctor is a real awful piece of software. It's probably best to just wait until AB supports voltage control, which may be within the next week or so.
